There's not too many people,
   who have but one true friend;
A shoulder for to lean on,
   on whom I can depend!

Someone who'll always be there,
   for when in time of need;
That special one who'll always lend,
   a hand or helping deed!

A friend who'll always help you,
   they'll go the extra mile;
Someone to hold you up all day,
   if only with a smile!

A person who will listen,
   when pouring out your heart;
The one who's never left your side,
   has been there from the start!

That wholesome leader as a friend,
   whose lifted you in prayer;
That special one you'll never doubt,
Or question if they're there!

The one who never judges you,
   as sin in life you trod;
The one whose always knelt and prayed,
   you'd turn your life to God!

I thank God for your friendship,
   through sorrow, pain and strife;
I pray someway I can repay,
   your friendship in my life!

As the lightning dances round,
   and the thunder's deafening roar;
You may feel My God has left you,
   or His love is never more!

Your heart is filled with sadness,
   your body weary and weak;
Your eyes, they burn with sorrow,
   as tears roll down your cheeks.

The devil says "Get angry,
   God took this one from you!";
He fills your mind with questions,
   and says"God's love's not true!".

"How could He leave me lonely?
   How could He take you away?
How could He do this to me?
  I can't live another day"!

"What have I done to Him?
   How could this all be?
Have I lived my life so wrong?
   Has He turned His back on me?".

My God has every answer,
   To all questions just above,
He puts turmoil in our life,
   to help us trust His love!

It was Him that blessed you with
  the time you got to spend,
Here beside your beautiful love,
   He placed with you on lend!

It's nothing that you've done,
   nor have you lived so wrong;
For without some trials in life,
   we could never be this strong!

Their time on earth was through,
   I'm sure He had a place;
Bet His choir of angel singers,
   must've had an open space!

Now see that smile upon His face,
   as you loved one sings His praise;
Backed by a million angel singers,
   as their voice's they raise!

Yes, My God will see you through,
   each day you live from here;
If you'll give it all to God,
   you bet, He'll hold you near!

As I watch you lying there,
   so lost in peaceful dreams;
I know I'm stuck on you,
   and know what true love means!

With nothing but your smile,
   you've broken down my walls;
As you've shattered my defense
   I had formed to never fall!

See I thought I had a plan,
   how to never love again;
Just to always duck and dodge,
   and love to never win!

All I gave you was a yard,
   but you know you took a mile;
With nothing but one look,
   of your oh-so-precious smile!

Since you came into my life,
   my heart now on the mend;
You've helped me live once more,
   proved you'll love me till the end!

I know you've seen life push me 'round,
   at times down to the ground;
Yet as you reached your hand to me,
   such strength in you I found!

You've shown me love all through my life,
   you've stood so strong and bold;
You never left me once in life,
   you're always there to hold!

I'll try to return this love to you,
   you've shown me everyday;
I've seen the best example now,
   to love in such a way!

If someone asks, I'll tell 'em quick,
   your love has seen me through;
I've never known what true love was,
   until my heart found you!

There's days and moments now and then,
   without you with me here;
It feels that I may fold or break,
   from weight I cannot bear!

It's just because I miss your touch,
   to feel you close to me;
'Cause when I hold you in these arms,
   it helps my heart break free!

There's never been a man on earth,
   to love a woman so;
I never dreamed I'd be the one,
   till you I came to know!

You've shown me what true love's about,
   you give my heart a jolt;
Since everyday you've stood by me,
   a statue strong and bold!

I may not be there physically,
   yet never far away;

   though now's not soon enough;

   to have you here with me;

There's no one now I'd rather hold,
   No soul on earth like you;
Your more a piece of Heaven sent down,
   Celestial through and through!

My God has all the answers,
   if you'll go to Him in prayer;
He will fill you full of wisdom,
   and your burdens He will bear!

Yes, His door is always open,
   anytime that you're  in need;
He will speak to you and then some,
   if you'll just His Scriptures read!

My God is always waiting there,
   My Lord's still on the Throne;
He'll speak to you through anything,
   you'll never be alone!

He'll be there for you now and then,
   at any time you fall;
He'll guide your way back Home with Him,
   just with His beckon call!

Oh yes, My God's the Bread of Life,
   The Ruler of All things;
You'll find My Lord will shelter give,
   and comfort 'neath His Wings!
