Remnant

The ambiance you left in your room
Your name carved
on a wooden cabinet

The smell of your perfume
in someone else's shirt

and that stupid song from
a neighbor's radio
you used to sing

The wilted flower
between the pages
of my old dusty journal

That
beautiful tragic love story
I'd never get over with...
...and I am still mourning.

I've drank the finest of wine
Down to the bottom of the bottle
Only to witness an ocean alone
Barely surviving my own hands

A fire burned through my viens
That was blew out by the wind
Breezing through the leaves
A calmness that sits with me
Before calmness dismisses me

I walked across the tallest blue sky
Where wide winged birds soar high
Til promises of white clouds turn grey
And so there I fell with the rain
Dripping through the lowest gutter

Many times I was buried, lying in dirt
Like a grave, needing no help
Finding the dark inside of myself
But I always rise with the blades
Of the greenest fresh spring grass

No matter what feeling I catch
None of them seem to everlast

You allowed me to walk
Into your resolute gaze,
Woman,
I had witnessed
The opening of my prison

I'm reminded of when
The Earth was still young
Just rolling in the wind,
Like the way this short poem
Spells out the day we began

Rain on a flower
Rain on me
The sky has a plan
Tomorrow you will see
The sun shine again
In light of today's dream

To cleanse

Sometimes,

Runny mascara is needed
To clean off your face
Define your own tears
And they'll never go to waste
Woodpeckers occupy and echo the after dawn air-
My attention is theirs, to the trees my eyes stare-
A Caribbean water color sky so calm and so blue-
A few clouds mingle in, like a chalky white residue-
Jet trails kissing the morning sun's smile-
I think I found paradise, even if, even if...only for a little while-
A sky that seems to be never ending-
It's when I grab God's ear.... and I begin bending.

Our love was like a
guitar solo
it was intense
enchanting & loud
but only for a short time

i miss u grandma, i love you so much. thank you for being my grandmother, honestly the best thing you ever did was love us unconditionally despite the communication barrier but i know that even if our tongues did not speak the same languages, our hearts sure did and the love we felt could be translated into any language
