I Wrote her a love letter but she dropped it.
No money for the metro so we hopped it.
No money for the petro so I hocked a loogie
Then pawnshop hocked it:
Spitting that sick **** for profit.
We sat prostrate in front of our profit, then,
With her wet wig at the end of my mop-stick.
Check her prospects, then, blurry her optics.
We fly out in a flurry of topics.
I'm the nit-wit in her twit-pics:
The photo-bomber.
But she stopped its clock-ticks when she cropped it.
I should have told her,
I'm so fly she would die in my ****-pit.
And the Black Box is,
The love letter in her back pocket but she dropped it.

Blank canvases that inhale and exhale
with motives to live.
That's all we are
painted by Biology
a gamble in the darkness of who wins the lottery of appeal.

Sometimes we are created
using the best paint brushes
a stunning color palette
other times we are thrown together
extemporaneous products of failure
slapped on with crippled fingers
that lack inspiration
deprived of just the right shade of beauty.

I am a sculpture of proof
a hurried project
nose recklessly placed on the center of my face
cheeks not rosy enough in the frigid winter
disadvantaged with an artist who must have mistaken pink for blue.
My body is an accident
worn with tears after erasing and retracing
time and time again.
My past is scattered with ugly ripe bruises
maybe from tussling too roughly with life.

My soul
is the only thing
that is not of Biology's creation.
Soul is something I have dug deep into
with two frantic hands
before pulling out a heart beating gold
swollen with optimism
warm with love
spilling with kindness
stronger than beauty.

I am perfect
because my soul
is louder than my body.
I am beautiful
because never mind Biology's snide remarks
I am flawless
because despite my luck
I am a work of art.
This got a lot of attention for a poetry scholarship that is still in process. For some reason people really liked it. The topic was, "Write a poem about what makes you flawless". This is my version.

I'm suffocating
Life is leaving
Without you there to hold me
Your my oxygen

I don't care where you are going
But whenever you leave me
I feel like I'm dying
Your my oxygen

And I know this isn't a fair thing to be saying
It's hard to tell you because I want to set you free
But I keep you here because I need you to breathe
your my oxygen

And I keep denying myself the one thing I need
I'm growing older
And I need to figure our how to do this thing
Before you leave permanently
I need to know how to breathe

To write food in the stomach
Of every hungry child.

To spell war as peace,
Metaphorize flowers into the barrel

Of every gun on Earth.
The poet has responsibilities

Beyond those of mothers,
Of kings and presidents.

I refuse to give up hope;
This could be a poem world.

Come on, write your worst piece
Of literature.

Even misprints may give other
Meanings to a word,

Write me a green sky, blue dirt,
Trees the colour of air.

Sometimes the best poets
Have the least to say,

So keep writing, write until your
Fingers fall asleep.

Write until you havent slept
For weeks in search of that word,

That one right word,
Then rest on a notebook pillow

And dream the world right.
Write the world right.

There is no such thing as
Wasted poetry.
I am a wilted rose.
I am what once was beauty.
I am trust smothered by deception.
I am purity destroyed by hatred.

I am a sunken ship.
I am what once was safety.
I am comfort infected with lies.
I am a good intention on the way to hell.

I am spilled blood.
I am what once was honor.
I am innocence, murdered by anger.
I am friendship, stolen by prejudice.

I am the nightmare.
I am what once was hope.
I am a dream, invaded by darkness.
I am the childish wish, defeated by reality.
