You Belong With Me
Aphrodite Jul 15
I sought you out
You looked like you belong with me
Those eyes peering through my skin
Piercing my inner soul
How did you know?
It was so long ago
I sought you out
You looked like you belonged
To the gods
A profile so chiseled
Lips of a painful scar
A scar you earned
While fighting for me
Every chance you get
You need to wrap yourself
Amidst my gifts
Having to let them go amongst
Prying eyes
I sought you out
You look like you belong to me
You belong with me

Starved Dove
Aphrodite Jul 10
You won't love anymore
Never traveling to my shores
A spirit lost on an island alone
Feeling winds of sad through my bones
Touching the sand to feel your heart
Only to have the waves crash it apart
Give me strength to bare this sun
From the glare of your eyes, I have run
Eating from the bare trees of fruit
You gave me no absolutes
No promises of your treasure map
So here I stay, alone in this trap
I may perish like a starved dove
For I don't have long, find me my love
Send me your map so I can find you

Need Alive
Aphrodite Jul 7
I don't have long you see
Needing to make a possibility
Out of you and me
But it seems we are heading towards
Tragedy
I cannot be free
Unless you set me
Let me out of my cage
This bird needs to fly
Dying inside I am
I need alive to be
I don't have long you see
Escape

Fascade
Aphrodite Jul 2
There is three, a trio of sorts
That gives me what I need
For each of the ways I bleed
Sometimes it's my soul
My beating heart
My plagued mind
They all love my sculpted body
But none can I keep
They are all forbidden to me
Belonging to some
Or belonging to none
Too old
Or too young
I will forever be alone in my being
I am merely a fascade
Only to look at with craving eyes
And sensual thoughts
Sultry words spoken
What became of her?
With her raven hair
And marble flesh
Dark woven gown
She glides amongst the luminaries
Seeing who is free
To be with her
Until time to sleep
Who is she?
She is me

Triangle Of Mess
Aphrodite Jul 1
I don't have long
Trying to win your love
She wants you more
You want me to my core
I know you do
A triangle of mess
The passion in your pools
Make me a fool
A smile that could be wicked
It tears my calmness to shreds
When I see the glint in your eye
The hint in the arch of your brow
Needing those full lips on mine
And they will belong to me
Please give them to me
I am your Aphrodite
I love him

Lost Bird
Aphrodite Jun 23
I feel out of reach
Of the things you want to teach
My desperation shows on my face
That you are not in my place
I want your power over me
So blind that I cannot see
I won't notice the error of my way
Please let me be your desperation today
Give me some sign I'm yours
Write me into your stories of lore
Make me your main character too
The one who triumphs over you
I will steal whatever you want me to
Hire me, instruct me what to do
I'm reaching for your hand
Just tell me where to land
The desperation of living

Seasons Of Turmoil
Aphrodite Jun 20
Love is a whirlwind
Creating a path I can't win
A hurricane force leaving me bleeding
From the debris, forced upon my skin
Preferring the gentle breeze
Of a tease
Please
Don't judge me by my winds
Or by my words
My predictions, in my verse
Name me after the lady in a category
The first of the year
Aphrodite is coming
Prepare
Starting to storm

The Box
Aphrodite Jun 10
She holds a box, a sacred place,
Wrapped in mystery, warmth, and grace.
A whisper deep, a velvet flame,
That draws the wild and speaks no name.

It opens not for just a key,
But truth, and touch, and reverie.
A temple carved in silken skin,
Where both storms and dreams begin.

To know her box is not to take,
But feel the quake the stars awake—
A gift, a gate, a world untamed,
Forever hers, though never claimed.
In box full of hearts

Aphrodite
Aphrodite Jun 7
They say it’s wrong, this fire in my veins,
Your touch—my balm, my bliss, my chains.
We meet in shadows, hearts alight,
A kiss, a crime beneath the night.

Let gods forbid, let fate deny,
I’d burn the world to hear you sigh.
Though we must hide what others flee—
You are, and will remain, my Aphrodite
