You asked me why I love you,
And a million and one reasons came to mind,
But what I really wanted to say was that no one,
Will ever look at me the way you do,
And no one will ever calm the pain I feel in my soul,
Quite the same way you do.
I would love to say that I'm in love with you,
But the fact is...
I'm using my mirage of happiness to distract myself from him.
I would love to say that I'm in love with you,
But the fact is...
Every time I say your name,
I have to keep myself from screaming his,
Every time I kiss your lips,
I have to close my eyes and imagine I'm kissing him.
I would love to say that I'm in love with you,
But the fact is...
When I'm in another place,
Its his face I see,
When I touch you,
Its his skin I feel
I would love to be in love with you..
But when I look for my heart,
I find it still in his hands.

I love to lend you my things
When you see them I know you think of me
Maybe you’ll even smile
That thought helps me get through the day
Until I finally see the way your mouth makes that crescent moon
Because I know you’re happy to see me too
But I’m sure you don’t get butterflies like me
Look beyond my cheshire grin
I think you’re really wonderful

He doesn't see past the horizon of his life
He doesn't indulge in the myth of the hereafter
He doesn't believe he is worthy of such a notion
He doesn't make it a habit to put pen to paper

But with her...

He envisions the future like he's lived it before
He sings of his plans that span several lifetimes
He romanticises his thoughts as soon as they're conceived
He converses in paintings and writes only in rhymes
