Rob Rutledge
Carry no fear in your heart
Nor on your shoulders, shame
For the end is nothing more
Than the start by another name.

It is strange how we yearn
For what we have never known.
Nostalgic for a time long past
Before our seeds were sown.
Homesick for a feeling lost,
For a land so green and sure.
For a shore we have never seen,
For waters that have never graced
Nor lapped our weary feet.
For a space we thought was ours
For the darkness that hangs in waiting
Between the gaps among the stars.
For the peace we have never found
For the war we have always sought
For the feelings we seldom caught,
For the love of all unbound.

Carry no fear in your heart
Nor on your shoulders, shame
For the end is nothing more
Than the start by another name.

I just want to be your dream
and stream in your infinite seas
of spinning bliss, taste your ******
islands of summertime love,
lay on your **** abs and ***,
inhaling the rhythm of your voice.

I want to listen to the soothing songs
that you sing, step across the bridge
through the inner doors of your
handsomeness, entering sheer greatness.

I want to gaze at your amazing face,
your hazel eyes so divinely desirable,
your juicy lips so full of seductive poetry,
and your full, black beard carrying magical
light – taking me under the wings of your flight.

~
Gliding along
The edge of night
Voiceless
In their sorrow
Silent in the wake
Of remissive waters

Their call
Their beckoning
A flare
To the soundless heavens
Quiet in the assured
Expectation of faith
