Teaching your child to read
Is one of the greatest gifts
You can offer them,
Along with love of course.

Instilling a love of reading
Opens their innocent eyes to
Exploration
Excitement
Adventures
Dreams and
Limitless
Possibilities

It enables them
To find a way
To articulate
To visualise
To create
their own magical world
Borne of imagination,
But no less real for the imagining of

Enabling them to create
A vision and a realisation
Of a whole new world
Borne of imagination
And ways of being
Of futures anew, and
Ones of their making
And choosing

The tragedy is in repeating
Those sins done unto you
Your parental sins
Your ancestral sins
Chained to your neck
Weighing you down
Blighting the lives of everything you touch.
But now
Your choice
Is whether to remain shackled
Bound to fear and repression
Or to break free
And step into
Your desires
Your potential
Your possibilities
Your love
Your divine glory

Unsure of what to do

I'm losing my last grasp
on what we come to know
as a reality for so many years
and with that, I let go and fall,
fall to all the unknown, a void
to a road not paved, a future
full of unknown and I can't
help but smile at the ideas
of endless possibilities.

Such a strange construct
Determining our every life
Limited and often scarce
Yet many times wasted
Then again I contemplate
What I shall do
With all of my time
Generously handed to me
So many possibilities
All the things I could achieve
And while I overthink
I waste it all along
After months of empty pages I found the time to write again. Then again the poem gives indications of what could be the cause. I can relate well and maybe some of you can do too.
Cheers!
She holds the universe in her little hands
A world of never ending possibilities
A future full of unlimited potential
Little girl, you control the world
You've already changed mine
To my nieces, little girls, go change the world.

There are galaxies inside of me
waiting to be explored.
There are stories to be told that leave you wanting more
there are religions in the chaos of my mind
but I am blind to all the possibilities,
fed by science’s facts
the love in my heart set on targets I will never reach
the knowledge I will never preach
the words I won’t speak
but I am the madness
the chaos the light the order the darkness
I am the shadow of a prophet
a wizard’s fairy tale...

i blinked
and years passed on their own
abandoning me
goodbyes still lingering on
lips dusted in salt
dredges of memory
are all that remain of
such a fragile dream
but even dreams can quickly turn
to nightmares
haunting and taunting
with what could have been
in a time so long ago

even  after i’ve laid it to rest
buried it beneath earthy soil
and cut it from my lungs
a whisper remains in my veins
working it’s way
to the beat within my rib cage
“i’m still here, i’m still here”
it murmurs
blanketing my eyes
until all i can see
is what could have been
