pain movements
going thru the motions
passive observing
damaging actions

how many poems
can be
and are
written with the energy used in searching for an out
of these feed-back loops

how do you know which way
the spiral orients
with vertigo
prevalent ?

there are no definite answers
only the sweat in your hand
holding tight to
"do least harm"

but even that's a fist

it's that joke
that everybody's in on
sometime you get it
sometimes you don't
but you laugh either way

can't help but to wonder
who gets it when I do
and who don't

Who's suffering have I been blinded to
by my own self-interest
and what do I find so
interesting?

When numbed by the massive
waves of pain
felt, so far away yet so many,
where is my own hand in the healing?

Are the wounds of
apathy
enough to bleed out by,
or will the will
be enough to lift the bandage

to stem the tide.

there is a rightful backlash against
the defence of a monster
called ill
and not a terrorist

however
I see more rightness
in attribting ALL terrorism
to illness
than giving name to another
demon

better for healing's sake
to call the sick as they are
than turn them away
for fear of
infection
inpired by terrible inspiration.
the man was a terrorist, and the man was sick (socially).
too bad we only think of motives and mental health when it comes to white, American males and not all those who commit acts of terrorism. we should consider the motivations of religious extremists and lone wolves equally. in both cases, the ills of the individual stem from the ills of the larger social organism.

As complexity increases,
the recognized dissolves;
but like ice in water,
still there.

We all move
forever from the world we held
to this one
to this one
to this one
to this one..

Always keeping one,
never knowing both.
