After Listening to Verdi's REQUIEM
Rest, oh rest so sublime
as night drifts into the unknown
forgotten is weary time
this, the sojourn alone--
light, oh light so calm
all darkness on swift wings has flown
ah, sleep so welcome-- the sweetest balm
what the living have never ever known

....by which time. ( I think this had been posted a few years ago?)

The Things We Strove For
in endless pursuits
of things, only proposed
that lay in adornment of
destiny's stony brook
adjacent, to our hopes
these objects of desire
of longing
they languish, as we slave on
for naught much more than to live
to have enough
they are forgotten in our dark times
in our moments
where light leaves us,
and are brought back
with fresh life

Returning Overdue Books--Delinquent Borrower Wrote to Librarian*
My duty to return
the books I will not fail
I am reminded of the consequence
as I might be sent to jail.
*. a real case
