Loneliness
Shelster Oct 2019
It comes uninvited
I don’t have to be alone to feel it
In fact I’m surrounded by people right now and It’s there
You see these people are people
Not connected to me
And I do have friends
But I don’t feel gotten
I have my front to fit in
A side they like so I keep it there
But I’m not me
They don’t see me
For if they did then I’d truly be alone

Someone like you
Shelster Dec 2020
Our stories shared
Healings unfold
Connections being made
Our truths being told

We are not alone
There's someone out there
Like you
Like-minded
Someone who cares

Someone who feels you
and shares what you're going through

Someone who hears you
when all you need is to be listened to

Someone that lifts you
when you're down so deep that no-one sees you

Someone to be that friend to you
when there is no-one around to be there for you

We can find that someone
that someone like you
to connect with,
to grow with
and to never feel alone with.

- A Rose (yellow)
Shelster Sep 2019
Crinkled up yellow petals

Into a teardrop blossom

Layers and layers of sunshine beauty

Held tightly into a bud

Opening and closing

To the rhythm that is day

Sweetness emanating

From the seed

Germinating

Pollinating

To grow the love that is

Dear Doubt
Shelster Aug 2020
Dear Doubt,

It's understandable that you have risen.  You are at a stage in your journey that is untrodden by you.  This is a path you have not walked, yet.  The uncertainty that you can do it, is normal dear one.  You see where you need to be but the path seems too long.  See the first step, then the next, learn from each move.  Move forward, build the strength you need to keep moving.  Rest when you need to and get up again.  This is normal dear one.  Do not fear, this is growth.

Doubt
Shelster Aug 2020
The feeling of doubt weighs heavy on my stomach
Like an anchor holding me down
I try and release it but my arms are too weak
Someone starts to work with me
Pulling the chain up one link at a time
I'm feeling lighter with every pull
I'm feeling lighter with the realisation
that I am not alone

There for you
Shelster Nov 2020
When the clouds are grey and the wind is cold,
Can I be there to keep you warm?
Can I help you see the sun behind the clouds of doubt?
When you feel all alone like no one understands you,
Can I be by your side and just listen?
Holding space for you when all you want to do is cry.
I can be that place for you
When nothing seems to make sense to you
I can be that voice for you
When all you hear is what’s wrong about you
I can be that strength for you
When all is folding in on you
I can help you see what's good in you
See the life in you
See the new way for you
In any way you want me to
I am there for you.
