Hurt is a reminder
that love is
required
Note to self.

A brilliant smile
A comfort like no other
And the sweetest kiss
You asked for a Haiku, and I finally wrote you one.

a poem enters
is recorded and exits..
recorded Now..and
in readings afterward
the reading colors the Now
but not in the colors
of the recorded poem..
yet both the
writing and reading
express the
ever-present Now...
while it is true that past is past,
my calendar still reminds me
of my yesterday.
it still sores
that even a bag of ice
can't cure.

it still haunts me.
crawled up to my nerves.
gave me lots of it's-time-to-cry nights
which i think i deserve.

crying became my lullaby
as if it is now a prerequisite
for me to sleep.

but
i am tired
of this solitude,
of guilt,
of crying for help.

it's hard to forgive others,
but i guess
it is harder to forgive yourself.

What would you do if you were blown by
the wind and the Cherry Blossoms.
And you were giddy on the nectar from all
the flowers that fell from the sky; Orchids, Irises,
and Tiger lilies...and all you could do was smile
and laugh about how great the heavens are.

do you love
when you are ready
or just whenever
love is there?

daffodil
rising now in darkness
the sun climbs sleepily above dew dampened fields
casting a hazy light over crystal rain drops
breath swirling in the air before me
nose blushing pink
rosebud lips dried
brushing gold dust from the corners of my eyes
crossing my fingers
that the rain might stay away
then turning my face to the sky
feeling the hesitant sun
gently warm my skin
while all around me is cold

oh how grateful i am
for winter mornings
i miss winter
