Screams of wind
Set in disguise
Unheard and unfelt

Feel thy shadow
Breathe again

Live, long lost wind!

Whisper howls
To me, I plead

Comfort thy heart
My soul begs thee
Scream and relieve

Live long, lost wind!

fog
filling deserted alleys with opaque walls of muteness
like a video frame paused for hours
tamed in sight, this night gently leaves moist imprints
on face of ***** windshields bearing finger doodles

the paws of lingering mist would run
through puddles of water at corners of street lamp
coil around a melancholy orange veil of light
concealed in narrow glass neon tubes

would the ravens sleep, wander or meditate
while stray dogs breathe in a freezing December laboriously
tucked inside cozy beds of garbage
painstakingly gathered

on its toes, beaten, tired with smiles
the heart of night haunches over
the promise of what could be
and with nobody looking, silently moves on

should the long awaited breeze deliver
a promise of fidelity unafraid
of clearing away this fog in mind
with a glimpse of you

when stars find themselves stuck in turbulent seas of haze
with moon unable to break the walls of unknown
and morning sun afraid to sail into clear skies
my breath beckons an unknown name

obscure yet alive, the paws of lingering mist would run
and soak each blade of grass, one dewdrop at a time
overwhelm each particle of soil, one cold drip at a time
and laminate nearby pond till lotus has no choice

but to flower.

this special summer's day
may joys fly with your zeal
in domain of your heart
may tranquil havens be

like fallen autumn leaves
just shut your eyes and see
to dance away all night
lean into ecstasy

for beauty is no trance
and never shall it be
its not a song you'd hear
or picture you could see

be your friend may soul
murmurs of His being
guide you in darkest nights
and sail the toughest seas

may words which hide the pain
flow freely from your speech
for in the book of life
does time no secrets keep

but may it delve in soul
unveil its holy seed
to be a truth in which
gazes eternity

for in the mirror of love
our world shall itself see
you'll search yourself in all

Moment of Happiness
tranquil Feb 2014
Hours, she sits there on the bench. Her shiny brunette hair dances joyously with the wind and brushes against her soft pale cheeks while staring solemnly at the sun, setting at the horizon and only as you gaze down at her deep blue eyes, that you get to see the pain and misery burrowed deep within her soul.

Gracefully, she stands as the wind speedily picks up its pace with her skirt moving madly above her knees. Starting to walk on gritty sands; leaving an etched footprint to what momentarily will be a past like any other tomorrow...Midway she stops and looks straight out to the open sky that’s been mixed with hues of red. Quietly she lets the calling of birds and the whisper of winds drift away her soul from the little things that held her back. Closed eyes, she starts to breathe deep in; filling her lungs as she tries to reminiscence the early childhood days, “Oh, what days those were! Not having any fear to what has beholden in front of you, as the caring of your parents were an armor to anything bad that was entrusted upon you; and there you were creating an imaginary world of your own that made you feel the strongest of all” she thought.

The sudden noise of waves clashing against the rocks breaks the deep emotions running through her mind leaving a half empty thought hanging around. Annoyed, she picks up the lens that’s been dangling around her neck; peeks through to capture the beauty in peace. Slowly, she bursts out in sigh of relief as she whispers to herself, “Photography is one of the reasons that always kept me going; it was a way of hiding behind a camera and not expose your weakness. All those years being the puppet of fate I spent many nights wishing at the evening’s shining star for a breakthrough. The regret of having left my family at such an innocent and vulnerable stage where I had to fight off for a better life; while my friends went on with their smooth journey’’. Having said that a little soft voice starts to fill the air. ‘’Mommy mommy?’’ turning her head with an abrupt smile looks at the direction of the voice. Before her stands a very young girl with long wavy pig tails in a peachy- pink dress.

Bending down she lends an ear, ‘Yes sweetie?’’ and the little girl continues with full of light and excitement. ‘’Mommy look at what I got, it’s a pearl!!!’’ Opens her little soft palms and there smiling at them was the hugest pearl ever to be found on that beach. ‘’Mommy do you think by me finding this make me a princess of the sea?’’ She laughs thinking of her imaginations when she was at her age. ‘’Yes Tia why not! Maybe when you grow up there’ll be a prince waiting to swipe you across your feet and take you off to your wonderful journey where you’d be ruling your own little world’’. She takes her hand in hers and starts to walk off along the shore. Waves covering their feet just as when Tia starts to whisper, ‘’Mom, I want to be in a world just like yours!’’ She looks down at her with a smile that hid a silent tear. “It might not have turned out the way I wanted; but the one thing I’m always proud to have is you!.”

wide afar free at last
hovering alight moves
to rhythm of the dark

through passing open winds
from foamy feather clouds
its fiery serpent wings
preened away by doubt

and breaks into the blue
shallows of a brook
to find a mirror gaze
anchored crystal look

my sweet little bird awaits
eyes perched on marbled moon
nesting sight of promises
spouting beak a croon

lost in shrubs of distant arms
leaves of plunging dreams
steering tweet a call of night
and grip the shade of trees

though when its frigid heart
may trace a sunlit path
a glancing summer shower

to blooming meadows ripe
rejoice at warmth of love

still i know you'll be with me
see me through it all

free of shiny masquerades

The evening moon is almost full
My feet sink in porous shores
Little toes peeking through sea foam
Cotton candy coloured beach house
Behind my back
Voices call me for a snack

Tangerine sky warm with dryness of day
And dreariness of night
Stars punched through holes
Wires connected to nebulae
Housing purple dust
My gaze drifts innocently
To the heart of stardust looking into my soul
Voices of those I love make me shed a tear
And pray for my lost moon

Petrichor and monsoon
Soft greens between hard rocks
His smiling countenance melting shield of self-doubt
While my vulnerable seed lets go of
It’s protective shell
My wings grow in these turbulent times
I set sail to unknown winds
For my moon is almost full

I have my heart
I have my wings now
To gaze at destiny’s mirror
Along with him
Maybe discreetly, maybe pompously
Walking upto a window and open up
Fearfully, fearlessly, angrily, lovingly
Acceptingly

My strings join to the cosmos
Thumping of heart heard in supernovae
Tears in conches turned to pearls
Sweat on my brow turned to morning dew
Gushing Blood in veins turned to glowing magma
I hear the moon say
You are your own light
Burdened, free
Adulterated, unadulterated
Tell this to your mirror and let it sing praises
of your mighty soul

When my eyes look into a mirror
The mirror gazes itself through them
When the moon is almost full
And even when you hide it somewhere
I find wishing myself a happy birthday

Act 1

Drunk wispy clouds keep falling over the blue tarmac
Refusing to take off
And make way for a sun too shy to show itself

White Sea gulls tear warm winds apart
Flocks aimlessly meander along curves of the green isthmus

Toes of rocks along the shore
Play with bedsheets of ocean waves
Pulling and pushing layers of shallow blue waters

Our sky is an open air theatre
Where two kites chase each other’s tail
Dive deep and soar high
Overflow with dizzying adrenaline
While an old faithful sail on a fishing boat
Bogged down, tied to the command of ocean winds
Envies the freedom
Held by two fragile pieces of paper

Act 2

First three stars peek through purple curtain of sky
It is a cue for the Sun
To abandon it’s shyness and take a dip
Before tucking itself in seabed
He admires his reflection for a bit before
Waves break it apart into million glistening yellow diamonds
Shining, scattered over an orange ocean carpet

Sea gulls perch on rocks covered in seaweed
Sharing epic stories of victories and despair
Un-ashamed, in a loud communion

A lighthouse far in the distance
It’s bright eyes pierce an ever-growing darkness
Resolutely, dutifully
Guide the clueless in search of shore
Towering above fishing vessels docked by the bay
Our sky is a painter’s palette
Getting muddier with each dip of the brush
Before an artist gives up

Act 3

Gentle clouds cradle an infant moon
It’s distilled halo percolates down to wet beach sand
One light wave at a time

Sea is in a trance
Oscillating between extremes of anarchy and tranquility
Hiding in it’s depths the worst of pains
And mountains of hope

A fog laminates the seascape
Pulling up a curtain over naked chores of nature
For she has done enough for the day
Bathing in it’s own grandeur
Advertising itself to whole existence

Summer constellations peek over emerald green mangroves
Mythical heroes and queens come to life
Ready to command armies of bears and bulls
Summon dragons and centaurs
Ride chariots along the milky way
Before a truce is called again
And everyone slips into a slumber
with Lyres played in background

Our sky is an open air theatre
That mirrors itself in your dark eyes
And a whole cosmos of imagineered tales
Takes over mind's stage
When the curtains fall.

If it is redemption you seek
Lure my humans with the same poison of passion
That which will be the cause of your exile
That which will be the test of your character
And morality of children of the female you fell for
Let this be.

Thus with the original commandment
Lucifer’s wings were clipped
And he was thrown onto the highest peak on land
Surrounded by nothing but shame and snow
For the first time fear ate into the mind of it’s primal host
Watering the seed of guilt
Blooming into hate from which chaos spread out

With temptation for his creation
And hatred for his creator
Though oblivious to the grand unfolding scheme
Lucifer decided for a lesson to be taught to his maker
To challenge the only Free will that matters
Unaware that his own rebellious will
Was lightning bottled in a jar by the almighty.

If it is the Woman I seek
I will cause the end of every one of her kind
Except the very last
By me who shall be claimed
Right before the end of days
Through this very fruit of knowledge
Destined to turn into the curse of death

To prove the flaw in his work
The futility of morality
And glorify the sanctity of chaos
All permanent entropy and decadence
Which doesn’t differentiate
Which is more just than
The righteous charade of a being
This justly God’s being is.

Morality and passion fight each day since
Each hour and second hence
This poison God intended to inject into his rag dolls
Through his most beloved angel

As the humans bit into first sin
Desire was born out of the fruit of knowledge
Desire that led to an illusion of free will and action
Delusion of an illusion this fallen angel himself suffered from

Lucifer slid under the tree
Waiting and watching
Peeking through the hole in sky
Heaven from which he was banished
And those stars mocking his fate at night
Ones which he brought into being
Lucifer the bringer of light
Destined to spread fire of temptation
Till the doomsday flood
Drowns the first flame of passion
God's Checksheet --

tranquil Feb 2021
A six year old once
Thought of a great plan
A huge kite
Made out of ivory sheets,
Broomsticks and yarn spool
Finish it before evening
Tie himself
Ride the breeze
And fly to the moon

He knew every evening
Winds died out by the time bells ring
In temple at street corner
And be finished before seven thirty
When mom shouts him down the roof
One of the troubles
Was he didn’t have anyone
To hold the string in place
But tying the kite to
Iron grill would work he assumed
But his sister won’t tell him
Where the glue was
And he didn't have enough string
To reach the moon
So he borrowed some
Wool yarn from an unfinished
Sweater grandma made last year
A matching red for my kite

But much to do
With not much time
Sky was getting orangier
Mosquitoes noisier
Time for quick decisions
Sitting on water tank
Gazing at the sky
Kids flying them like inebriated pilots
Failing and falling like leaves
Thinking of those fools
I could do better
Fly higher
If only a bit older

Three decades later
Searching for a forsaken photocopy
He found a drawing
Made on a summer evening
A red kite smiling in clouds
With a half moon behind it
