Secrets are meant to be kept to oneself,
not whispered to the entire world.
To be breathed into bottles and placed on the shelf,
not to be seen and unfurled.

Secrets are meant to be cherished,
and to bond the ones who share them.
They should be kept until your perish,
and not be used to condemn.
What do you guys think? Secrets are meant to be kept. Are they not?
I hang paper cranes
Above my head
So I can fly in my dreams
The map of the world
That hangs on my wall
Is a canvas for me to paint
The Shakespeare quote
Reminds me of where I'm going
Baby pictures remind me
Of where I've been
My blankets are my cocoon
I'm a butterfly
I lie in the dark
Spinning poetry like a web
Popcorn feeds my stomach
Paperback novels feed my mind
My dressing gown hangs on the door
My walls are trimmed with fairy lights
A tv sits atop a dresser
Like a skeleton, it lay unwatched
I'd prefer to dream of lilac baths
Than force my brain to rot.
Under my bed there's dust bunnies
And monsters
And in the dark they creak
But I'm sleeping with my paper cranes
And flying in my dreams.
I do not fear the earth I tread
Beneath these darkened skies
My quest  is to walk in honesty
Escaping deciet and lies
Each day I am reminded
By this challenge of mine
It's like scaling the highest mountain
That man will ever climb
My love and I, shared the summer last year,
While Dragonflies stitched until the close of day,
I see her now, the fond memories so dear.

We both loved a lifetime without any fear,
From fragrant meadows our cares floated away,
My love and I, shared the summer last year.

Her pleasant laughter, I can still hear,
Threading the air with the scent of fresh hay,
I see her now, the fond memories so dear.

Why we drifted apart still remains unclear,
Did passion die when blue skies turned grey?
My love and I, shared the summer last year.

I embraced her soul, held it so near,
But already I sensed her slipping away,
I see her now, the fond memories so dear.

In stoic silence, I shed a single tear,
Resolved to keeping my sadness at bay,
My love and I, shared the summer last year,
I see her now, the fond memories so dear.

For a girl in another life, beyond time's blurry realm, marching on unceasingly, making dust of us all.

I fell asleep in the afternoon only for waking up to a pleasant dream,
I had a dream of a life without you my love mate but it was pleasant,
I was missing my mate so I sculpted a statue and it was resembling you,
I then put my wizardry skills to bring the statue to animation in real-time,
I spent all my life alongside you happily drinking the elixir of love.

everybody needs somebody,
and I've only got myself for company.
After all this while,
Mona Lisa of poetry
Is still a mirage...*

betterdays
the little white lie
just a harmless seed
but will it grow
into flower.....
or ****.

prompt; write a poem of lies

(this may well be prepartory thoughts to another poem)
When I fall asleep my eyes meet yours.
