I never knew a song
to have eyes
Never knew a song
to look back
To sing, without a single word set free
To fill me to the brim with music
not sound
To shimmer and shake
Consumed with stories
Stumbling over one another to make themselves heard
and seen
But then again
I never knew a poem
Could be buried
In the wrinkles of a palm
I will wait

That Look

When you look at her,
I see the pain on your face
while she smiles, unaware,
of the hurt you can't erase.
And that's the worst part-
she doesn't hurt too.
She's moved on with her life
and doesn't think twice about you.
I know she consumes your mind,
every morning through night,
and I know you have tried
to free yourself from this mental fight.
Just that look can show so much,
I wish that I could wipe it away,
and change it to that look of love
instead of that look of dismay.

The moment finally came-
you are back
saying sorry, you're glad
with tears on your face, pain in your gaze, and heart full of shame,
all our hate has escaped.
While I spent those months grieving
you spent them disbelieving,
reliving the love through another women.
But look who's crying now!
When she didn't compare.
I learned to conquer the world
so now you stare
at me and swear,
while your heart tears,
and mines been repaired,
that this friendship is truly what you want,
but your face
says something
different.
an accord of peace shall never be found
while ever the weapons of war resound
man has not heeded lessons from the past
over centuries countless souls killed
endless rivers of blood hath been spilled

an olive branch ushers in tranquility
too many souls lost through inane hostility
the world sees conflict and is most aghast
put down the rifle let it's powder rest
leaders must hear this imploring request

the dove of peace the symbol of brotherhood
may it fly over our orb in quietness
armaments bring vast amounts of sadness
may we have hush in every neighborhood

Meenu Syriac
Her silent tears wept, in crystals withheld.
She wore her silks and touched up her scars,
With sorrow, she walks out into the sun.
In white, she glistened, but her heart, coal black,
In shimmering dreams she had lost herself,
Lost to a world, worn and surreal.
Her emerald green eyes, crying,
And with each moment her fears, surpass.
To the world she is a flame, burning the eye,
But within, her heart cripples as the flame  burns out.
The clouding eyes of foretold doom,
Written between the lines of her wrinkling life.
Distant calls on sleepless nights,
Escapades from this loveless life.
Shadows lingering, as voices whisper,
Her wings, clipped to the sides.
And in white, she stood there,
Under the sun,
Lifting up her eyes, to the heavens above.
Crystals shed, held captive to her pride.
The day after the storm,
*She finally weeps in front of the Gods.
