Caffeine as dark and cold as it comes
and your body never fails to stay warm.

Comforting, warm, a sweet blend of energy
and I’m always chilly.

Would I be warmer if I took a sip of that bitter&cold you can’t get enough of?

Or is my stone cold physique meant to bring the temperature of us both to an ease of equilibrium?

Encase me in your warmth.
I’ll cool you off
and melt into you,
into me,
into us.

how foolish we look
running in from the rain

as the birds sing
from the rooftops

Why when you’re falling apart
do they call it
spiraling,
when they really mean
plummeting?

Spiraling is ******* liquid
through a twisty straw,
going down a waterslide,
twirling and turning.

And then there’s plummeting:
falling down into a seemingly endless abyss,
losing balance at the edge of a mountain and: splat,
an abrupt descent.

Maybe some journeys have more twists and turns
and others are simply unforgiving.

i'm completely and utterly
lost in a sea of you

i'd rather drown in your shadows
than swim in someone else's light
