Colour Blind

I don't see the colour of your skin.

I see
the colour of your heart.

Is it dark and putrid or
is it the color of a soft and lilting tune?
Is it filled with warm tones,
or cold?
Hues of ice and snow,
or gold?

Do you give or take?
Do you love or hate?

I don't see race or faith,
I just see you-
your energy, your words, your actions.

I see you; I just simply
see you.
The news is getting to me. Let's all just love and be loved.
Every one of us deserves love and kindness. Every single one of us.

I'm finally free from this emotional cell ,
Though I was stuck between heaven and hell,
You were not coming was all I could tell,
I was finally out but wished you well,

I sat beside despair and sorrow,
Wishing you would come today or tomorrow,
But I got a little older everyday,
When I became hopeless I tried finding a way,

But maybe I should accept somethings can never be,
Yes you will love someone but that someone isn't me,
From what I'm told and I feel and I clearly see,
You have long forgotten this prisoner
who only  you can set free,

Love was meant to mend broken hearts,
Not to break them more into smaller parts,
Love was meant to bring tears of joy,
Not to result emotional  suicide of a girl or boy,

Yes we think we understood what love was meant,
We should take our words back in regret and repent,
This love we know is just an emotional prison,

I'm free and you are too to learn about love ... the way it should be.

I sat down
To write a poem about
The way things used to be

But I can't remember
Much before dinner
So that thought's eluding me

Then I thought
A poem about
The life I'm living now

What came across
Was one big yawn
Perhaps a bit too loud

Then it occurred to me
Maybe the poem should be
Set in the near future

Before I even began
That light grew dim
So that path I didn't venture

Now here I am
With pen and paper in hand
In this conundrum of what to write

Until that time
The poem I find
I'll just kindly say goodnight

Dear Kid,

Sometimes you will forget
that life is not a race.
Remember to look at the sky
and breathe at a slower place.

Sometimes you will forget
that your time here is mere.
Remember to look at the sky
and listen to your heart beat dear.

Sometimes you will forget
that you weren't born to lose or to win.
Remember to look at the sky
and give it a cheerful grin.

*take care
She was the one pool
where I would happily drown,

you're perfect,
don't change a thing,

but two
simple sentences
resonate within me

"Are you satisfied?"

"No, you haven't kissed me."
old
"Don't drink your calories—
unless you want to get drunk."

Her eyes trembled with tears

Weakness stretches out,
not searching strength—
for another soul to be
weak with

A heavy languor spilled into the room
all she can think about
is the patterned ceiling,
which was a book for her to read
while entwined in damp blue sheets
Sipping the air slowly
to savor the flavor;
rich with fertility
Leaves bursting into fiery hues
reminiscent of fireworks
trembling in the wind

A death knell
over green sceneries;
splotches of sunlight
seeping seamlessly between
newly naked branches,
easing fully unto checkered golden pools–
nature at its most beautiful,
before its most barren
Waves painted the hull teal
the Sun colored in my skin,
while wind brushed strokes against my cheek

Water, tinged with foam and salt,
splashed my face
I woke up;
there were tears on the pillow
dreams
