someday someone out there is going to look at you like you’re made of stardust and will love you as if it's what they were born to do.

wait for it.
He stole all my words
The poems I wrote
on the back of my notebooks,
scratch papers,
yellow pads

Words meant to be hidden,
he found all of them.

A sly thief:
Stole my words and broke my heart---

The words I earned.
The words he lost.

But you.
You gave me my words back.
And left me tongue tied in the process.
A thank you note to someone who used to mean so much.

In the beginning
Was a reboot. God

Running his fingers
Over the 1s and 0s
Of our artificial minds
Bending

Its language
Backward. Let himself

A small grin; Einstein

Founded a theory for the way
Light bent
Through
And not

Ran
Ramrod straight
Into hardened walls.

Called it,
“Quantum,” traced,
With the tips
Of his numbers
The merciful

Fragments
Of our misshapen
Universe,
And too smiled

At our salvation.
scraped my knees
again.
streaks of crimson
on my skin marred,
no stranger to scars.
another artwork to my collection
this body is a museum of memories.

i'm both crying and smiling.

the sweet sting
is a souvenir from the time
we danced
to the beat of our hearts,
we swam
in radiant sunshine,
we chased
each other so fast that
we flew
too high,
we crashed
too ******* the ground.

the pain is great
but still,
that is
no
match
to the times that we had
and my love for you.
Fall Out Boy inspired no this is not really a hugot haha.

I'm always loving myself off

a precipice, hanging from the
c r a g s  by branch and string
wet down by s  e  a  and dried
by salt, the  w  a  l  k  here was
long in the tall grass that has no
trail where the  wind whets the
bluffs and steals my hair from its
hood so that I am my own maelstrom
a shred of black off the cliffs, incised
into the gray like my body is only an
o  p  e  n  i  n  g but from far off i am
just a whistle against the headlands,
sea foam and pine needles or
the grains of sand that
never settle.

I will tell you a little story
About mountaintops,
And how despite being

Six-foot
Nothing
I have always had a fear of
Heights, and rollercoasters,
And falling.

Somewhere in here
Is a love poem.

Good timing too.

I was about to talk
About how my greatest fear
Is not the crash,
The tightly knit crunch
Of rock on
Shattered bone,

But rather
The limbo that hangs between
You, and inevitable
Ground
Like a poorly written apology.

One you could never
Find yourself
Reciting
Out loud

For fear
Of having your voice catch
Just as
You hit

The earth.

You ask me
To write poetry
And I will tell you
To draw a face.
Any face.

Because the poetry
Is in your lips
Believe me
I've tried
To run away from it
But you,
There you are.

And when you
Ask me
To write poetry
I will ask you to sing
Because the poetry
Is in your voice

And believe me
I've tried to stop hearing it
But you,
There you are.

When you ask me
How to write poetry
I will tell you
To draw a wall.

Because this barrier of words
Is the only form
Of my love thin enough
To escape the crevices
Of your glance.

You are poetry
My dear.

The preservation of
A voice brushed away
And left to the
Winds of time.
