You stare into your mobile device.
Brows furrowed.
Searching for a sign,
A subliminal message.
Some sort of affirmation.

Why?
Let the past ponder on its own.
Let the future build itself.
Overthinking and searching so desperately for a sign makes it harder for fate to do its own work.

Relax yourself.

A poem only comes
To the tip of my tongue
And ripples down my limbs
When the sadness settles onto my shoulders
Like a river tumbling a rock
Until it shines
This drug,
It's  destroying me
It's  wrecking my life
to the point where I can hardly breathe

I thought of ecstasy
it became my addiction
And like that smoke in my lungs
it slowly burned me instead

Sometimes the forbidden drug is you.

tell me how
the most broken
beaten down
torn up
stripped to the flesh
people

could ever get back up
brush off the dirt
and carry on
like nothing ever
happened.
