How do I fall out of love?
But I knew I was in too deep
When I sat there trying everything
Anything to give me the same feeling that you did
Alcohol? Nope.
Exercising? Nope.
I let the water run one night
Down into the tub
And let it submerge me in my entirety
Until I was half conscious
Screaming at myself
To get you out of my mind
But it didn't work.
Nothing worked.
I am so helplessly in love with you
That I think the only way out
Is to die.
She was like the moon
Captivated by the stars
They reminded her of him sometimes
Spending nights driving in his car

He was like the sun
Sometimes shaded by the clouds
But they didn't allow him to shine too bright
And he never came back down

She couldn't fall asleep
No matter how hard she tried
She tried to find someone who could help
Or who'd hold her while she cried

He spent his days inside
Feeling all alone
Hoping she'd call him one last time
So he laid there staring at his phone

He thought:
"If I inhaled
The scent of my sheets
Would they still smell like her
Even momentarily?"

She asked herself "why?
This is tearing my heart;
The pain is too copious,
And in no way is it 'art' "

If you hear crying,
Then it is okay.
It's just them being separate;
Slowly wasting away
I thought that it was
just a dream,
What happened between
her and me.

When we met I was
extremely glad,
But I could tell inside
that she was sad.

She had told me she might
have to leave,
And that when she was gone
I'm not to grieve.

I had told her that she
would be fine,
Things would get better
if she gave it time.

I woke up and felt
something was wrong,
So I rang her doorbell but
it took too long

I rushed inside and
saw the scars,
They were on her legs and she had
gashed her arms.

And what I saw when I looked
in her eyes,
Was that she knew that she
was gonna die.

And what I felt when I knew
she was gone,
Is that she was right
And I was wrong.
