Sopor fuels the pen
Darkness devours the sun
As she carves the page

With beautiful words
Ethereal, Opulent
Sonder, syzygy

Vellichor, Gambol
Efflorescence, Effluence

Words without meaning

Lurk in the shadows
And hovels of ambition
Creep onto the page

But the mind embraced
In a blanket of obscurity
Cannot find their worth

Her Mellifluous song
Ensorcelled her lover
Bliss in limerence

How can the stagnant
Heart waltz with stars, write of love,
Beat in unison?

How can the lifeless
Soul connect with humanity?

*My words are worthless
Reworking this piece.

a sweet chime dings
as you walk through the door
you breath in the smell
of cherished tomes
and are drawn in
to a world of possibilities
I love the feeling of vellichor, it is just so enchanting.
Oh Vellichor
Why do you leave me
asking for more
Your fragrant perfume fills the air
Filling my lungs with the memories
The stories
Beginnings
Middles
and
Ends

I could breathe you in for a thousand years and still you would have me under your speaking spell

Words fall from context
placed on high
I can feel you in
Learn from meaning
This place you have me binds me
I will never feel alone with the savour
content from your skin

Vellichor (n.): the strange wistfulness of used bookstores.
A delightful neologistic oddity! :)

'“The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows”, by John Koenig, is an ongoing collection of invented words, each representing an attempt to find a word to fit a concept for which our vocabulary is currently lacking. Vellichor is one such word, and Koenig’s site has hundreds of others, such as zenosyne (the sense that time keeps going faster), liberosis (the desire to care less about things), and sonder (the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own).'
