  My tears fall uncontrollably
My heart is splitting in two
The news of this tragedy
Feels like D”e ja”vu

As still I have not forgotten Columbine
How could this happen again
All of our progress and advance
Will this be the legacy of man

The normal arguments will arise
Gun control and the amendment rights
But Evil doesn’t yield to any laws
And it delights in our arguments and fights

Yes this horrible event was Evil
But there was Evil to him that pre-seeded
And his head was in a different state
His mental rationality was long defeated

You can make all the laws you want
But the laws will always fail
And until we teach our children love
Stories like this we’ll always tell

God must be allowed back into the
Schools and our heart
We must begin a new narrative
We must find a way to make a new start

So as we morn the for those lost
And Heaven receives 21 new Angels
We need to devise a battle plan
And carefully cover all the angles

In the meantime we must immediately
Allow armed soldiers to protect and serve
This will bring comfort and peace and
It’s what our children deserve

As I bring this poem to a close
And my tears continue to flow
Please join me in prayer and pray
This horror future children never know

Take some time, this I ask from
Just not one person but from everybody
Find a way some how to send your love
To all of the people of Uvalde

TELLY TROUBLE AND DANGERS
What kids are watching on telly
are crimes and crimes in all variety!
Crimes of hate
crimes of passion
acting it out at shocking rate
thinking in some wild fashion
then ending up cell mates
TV can **** their compassion
Their coffins enter cemetery gates

When kids watch their movie heroes
shoot down people with the gun
they are incited to do the same
to achieve some thrill and fun.

When they see their very film star
slash someone's throat in a fit of anger
they think well of crimes of rage
and plunge everybody else into danger.

The tendency to portray the violent scene
luridly and shockingly on the Big Screen
Ah, even for the small screen, tis the gory
that makes for the dark and thrilling story.

Now that technology's long opened
this wily pandora's box,
the dispersal of amplified social ills
just ain't no hoax

The rowdy hoodlums and reckless gangsters
are simply by-products of Tv influences
The world watches the thriving of the bully-boy pranksters
passively in helpless terror of their offences.

It's all portrayal of the ******, the obscene
by that devious Silver Screen
And the horror movie
though it may seem groovy
begets the horrendous
and drills evil thoughts subliminally
into the subconscious!

Viewing those gruesome swashbuckling films
gives rise to morbid sadistic whims
Flipping through the TV channels just ponder
if the telly's the perfect channel
of information is it a proper panel?

Dad always tells me, 'fear ye the roaches' flicking antennae?
While you oughtta fear the influence of 'em' flickering images by dish antennae'.

It's an unrestrained dark faking
of real life reality exaggerating
Whether it's Bollywood in the East
or it's Hollywood in the West
they don't merely impart tactics of defence
but rather those of aggressive offence

Just verbal tougher gun laws couldn't halt
even underage shooting sprees
Rather it's stringent scanning of Tv content
and banning citizens from acquiring guns
that might make it forever cease

Parental supervision too tis gravely essential
should've been of parental code quintessential
So the next time you catch your youth or teen
absorbed and engrossed while glued to the screen
Just sleuth a bit just to make sure
that for the ******* he's not too keen!

Only a mere single merit that I dug
as I drank cappucino in my mug
that atleast one couldn't live in a bubble
daily watching this bubblebug.

How many of you belong to the AMERICAN FASCIST PARTY (formerly the Republican Party)?

**** Trump is the first (Lincoln was a Republican) to be elected president of the United States of America. During **** Trump's tenure, there were 1,716 mass shootings in America and close to 2,000 human beings killed.

The AR-15, a weapon of war. Heard of it? Have one? It's legal. Buy as many as you like. If you tried to shoot a pheasant with one and you hit it, you'd have only feathers.

It does the same to a child's body. A grieving mother in Uvalde, Texas had to identify her dead son by a sock he had worn to school.  The AR-15 had torn up the body so badly, the mother could not recognize her dead child.

The 2nd Amendment guaranteed a citizen's right to own a MUSKET, not a de facto machine gun. The right to own as many AR-15s as you wish, even one, is insanity, pure and simple.

I'm sorry we failed you
I'm sorry we as a society
Did nothing to protect you
It wasn't your fault
It never was
Children are not politicians
Children are not republicans
Children are not democrats
Children are not targets
Children are not targets
Children are not targets

You went to school
Like any other day
Mom or dad or a loved one
Dropped you off and waved good bye
For the final time
You were just a child
And now
Just another casualty
Maybe one day
We will do something to fix this
But not today
Today we will sit here
And wait for the next one
And the next
And the next
And children just like you
With hopes
With dreams
With loved ones
Will be nothing more
Than targets
Mary Anne, has a gold heart,
It's one I find very sweet:
She means very much to me,
Her I sure do love to meet.

Hawaii has its sugar cane,
Uvalde has much honey:
She's sweeter than both of them,
And she makes each day sunny.

Fushia blooms are very sweet,
For perfume they are renowned
Mary Anne's heart is well known,
Her love in hearts does abound.

It is when there is a drought,
Many plants then wilt and fade:
Unlike plants during a drought,
Lively Mary Anne will stay.

She is that señorita,
Who has a heart one of gold:
Her heart is warm and caring,
And it never does grow cold.

If I'd visit Hawaii
And in Mizzou' she would be:
There too I wish I would be,
So that her then I could see.

A town you never heard of, you’ll never hear the end of
You’ve heard the end of
Guns in America, a story you’ll never hear the end of
The insecure White Man’s struggle ends with a massacre
A story that never begins in history, you never hear the end of
It’s always been going on, Elijah McClain, I hear him screaming in my brain
The pain is ongoing and I see this veteran policewoman walking towards a car
She’s got a gun in her hand and can’t tell the difference between a taser
Like the weight is the same as her heart and a feather, but it’s ******
White Supremacy, suddenly everybody is Kyle Rittenhouse’s defense attorney
Editing bodycam footage, standing around for 77 minutes and detaining
Your fellow officer whose wife is a teacher in the classroom, taking his weapon
And letting the school shooter reign free, rain bullets down on the
Nation you claim to love, so much ******* bravery, contaminated with agenda
Politics, frothing blood on the shores from sea to shining sea, ducking in the suburbs
From scopes that’s car windows reflecting the sun in the fifth day out the week of plus 110 degrees heat
It’s upscale for us, hell, close as bougie as you ever get when you can cook eggs on the street
The air is so thick with well-informed opinions that keep up with the world
Everyone knows everything, everywhere all the time anymore, and I try to avoid it
Hide from the anxiety, stay inside, idealistically cling to a shred of pride, the insanity I desire is structural anarchy
Challenge the integrity of a system that’s starving people, by flipping the tables and making the power-hungry just hungry
I’m just angry, you go into any atmosphere and it’s pretty clear conversations of social conscience run deep into consideration
Failure, on a historical, national, centuries-long, cultural level, not just any one people can be held accountable or responsible
Nothing can be solved with one tongue-lashing in one sitting, but nobody wants to hear that no satisfaction
Will come from the instant gratification of getting one over on the opposition
Who sit smug in defiance of each other, calm heads prevail even when they’re objectively incorrect
Because it’s not about logic, facts, truth or morality
It’s about appearing better than, media and perception
Appealing to the ego and id, ebb and flow of how to till an audience
Field them out, groom the youth and watch them grow
But truth is, the right thing to do is the hardest thing to do
That cop kneeling on George Floyd choked everybody who could see it was wrong
And he only killed one man with his actions, but caused all hell to break loose
If the world were a smarter place, they’d have tackled him off, detained him
Let the man in the hallway go, backed him up and taken action, but
Going online to defend White Supremacy, they used to go out into the world and put on hoods to do that
Kyle Rittenhouse took on the police department’s responsibility, he was 16
**** all the legalities, I hate lawyers and I refuse to speak with you on terms of legalese
This kid lived in a world where he couldn’t just be concerned about going to school the next day
Or playing video games, doing some teenager ****, no
He had to get an assault rifle, go out of his way to commit a double homicide, and people flock to his side to call it justified
What do you same people think about the yielding of Uvalde PD to a school shooter, active, in progress, who likely only wanted them to storm in on the rampage so they could commit suicide
Ignorance
The last chapter in American history because it will be the death of all of us
No arguments will endure one side not listening to another side not listening
When no one can make headway with a fair point, when you strip the right to choose based on autonomy
When you come after people for their differences, marginalize entire communities
Feeling so threatened you cry Marxism and quiver behind your idols, that you never noticed, sacred now institutions, installations of
Your unknown ancestry, history, let’s be honest, it’s not destruction to evolve the status quo in a positive direction for this hopeless society
Killing people out of reactionary fear, before they even do anything
Then rioting, splintering, there is no unity
There is no sanctuary, there is no safety
Peace is apolitical in nature, it just has to be, in that it is also injust
And politics are injust without being peaceful, but inspiring people to be hateful
Darker and more hateful than anything the eyes might ever see, they awaken evil in the cesspool, the spirit
Bubbling out of the mouth and over the teeth, fits of rage overtake the world stage
Like January 6th
You don’t get to compare your riot to other riots and say you did it more well-behaved
When you riot on the nation’s capital that’s like punching America, Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty, the constitution you preach like the bible and all the founding fathers in the face
My mind’s eye is swollen from the insight that plays on the news with the slaughter of these children, comparisons to the attitude surrounding incidents of gun violence and what it’s actually like to have mental illness
The Governor of Texas, mouth-breathing Abbott says, anyone who shoots someone else is not mentally stable, so police then
Murdering police who **** people all the time, and don’t even always use guns
A whole police department just stood by and let someone else **** children; I saw teachers trying to buy bulletproof vests online for their first graders
Kyle Rittenhouse is a symptom of a diseased mindset in America, if they won’t, he will then, and we don’t treat him
Like we would, we could, we should, I saw a light show celebrating his actions
**** the criminal history of the people he killed, judge, jury, nor executioner is on the head of the children
But, going to church, the grocery store, school, someone could just show up with two ArmaLite M15s and **** them
A Mossberg, Glock, Colt, Smith&Wesson and ammunition to fulfill the mission
Of raising stock in these gun manufacturing corporations, in the end
Because we set precedents with old money presidents, Donald Trump and the Bush Dynasty, Clintons and self-fulfill them
That we inherit sleepwalking promises of change, half-deranged, fall-guys for the previous administrations like Biden
And view one different face in this indistinguishable, old, white, grey spoiled milk on the fridge shelf of presidents as a beacon
There’s a systematic breakdown at the molecular level by legal minds far more educated and dedicated than mine
That are far more passionate, with more time, I’m just
Tired, God
I’m so tired of going outside and not knowing if there’s gonna be a Howard Unruh situation
Or that this America my nephew grows up in, will be so ****** up and, he’ll have teachers put bulletproof vest on his kindergarten supplies list
And I want to appeal against my better instinct to shooters to attack those whose job it is to protect and serve and fight back, to give a chance to the unarmed and innocent civilians
Go for your local police department if you need to pick a target, I implore you, if not for the impact, then think of it as a merciful act
They are carriers of the symptomatic disease infecting communities, leave unequipped people to live their lives, if you can’t be reeled back from your planned attack
I am so tired
It’s so hot it feels like the whole country is on fire and not from the sun
I could never be who I am anywhere else in the world, I want to love it here for that
But I don’t want to die here for anyone.

Just too much

Let children be children
The joy ,the wonder, the magic should evolve and never leave
Respect, appreciation, care, and consideration are very golden rules
Keep them shiny in your life
Look what happens when they tarnish
Let them explore their world with HAPPY hearts
Teaching Hate gets you nothing
Just ask loved ones and families from Parkland, Newtown, Buffalo, and Robb Elementary school
In Uvalde Texas
Just too much and enough is enough

Last night while riding nighthawk
a skittish herd of cattle
spooked by a desert rattler
panicked and sure skedaddled

Chased the cows in heavy brush
through briar, mud and water
running through the Texas night
Uvalde to the border

A coyote sings close by
he howls in a falsetto
the cattle now at their ease
are grazing in the meadow

White stars are slowly fading
the dawn is close to breaking
beans in Cookie’s *** are hot
I smell the biscuits baking

Lucky to Be Alive
Bob B Jun 2022
Uvalde, Texas. Miah Cerrillo,
A child only eleven years old,
Will never forget a day in May
As she watched a horrible scene unfold.

She was in class when a shooter entered
And massacred kids before her eyes.
The weapon that he used was the type
That spews bullets that pulverize.

To save herself, Miah thought fast.
To trick the killer, she tried to pretend
That she was dead, and that she did
By smearing herself with the blood of a friend.

Perhaps her decision saved her life.
She is lucky to still be alive.
But nineteen other children and two
Teachers sadly didn't survive.

What are lawmakers going to do?
Will they be among the ones
Who truly believe deep down in their hearts
That kids are more important than guns?

mamma says i am mindless as i unintentionally
clutch a cart that's not ours at the grocery store
this is true: my mind is everywhere
but the right here, the right now

she gives me $10 folded neatly to
hand to the apparently homeless
hijab-wearing lady camped by the carts

this is unlike her, not that she is heartless but
that hoover's ideal of rugged individualism resonates
strongly in her bones because she never got handouts
in the land of opportunity

still, her eyes are soft and urgent

i walk with apprehension and anxiety
prickling red-hot at the nape of neck
trading my own cart for the quarter
it swallowed as deposit

i hand her the folded bill
her sign, paraphrased, beseeches shoppers
in bold black strokes to spare money for her
and her two children, because she is
struggling to make ends meet

and with honest eyes and the smile of a person
worn down by suffering to only the hope
safeguarded in their soul
she asked that god bless me

that god...bless...me...
and i think silently to myself
what a pretty sentiment but
god affords no amnesty to animals
no, animal would be too kind a
descriptor for someone whose
depravity transcends the slavering
maw of a beast, who sings sin like lullabies
who eats, toils, *****, sleeps, eat. toil. ****. sleep.
subject to the primal algorithm that governs all
(and who are we to question it?)
cyclic, chronic, certain, this is the hill we climb,
the lackluster boulder we shove over and over

uvalde shooting, ukraine war, uiyghur genocide
i imagine the pacific, aided by polar snowmelt,
reclaiming tuvalu for itself
i imagine bodies overtaken by plague
spilling haphazardly from the
morgues of new york city
i imagine streets shrouded in tear gas and
littered with rubber bullets punctuated by
cries of "rest in power"
there is no purpose to parse from parsimony

even now, i try and say what is on my mind
in as few words as possible
as if with their utterance, i come closer to the grand reveal, the cutting of the ribbon, the fraudulent reality of joshua peter put on display for the world to pick apart and devour

i don’t think my friends understand that
i feel less than human in their presence
because since childhood, i knew if nothing else, i was endowed with mediocrity as my birthright

i implore those i love to leave, stop reaching out
if conversing with me ever becomes a chore
i ask in earnest because the last thing
i want to be is a burden, an outstanding box to tick on a checklist
i ask but i fear their response

it’s okay, no really, it is! i understand!
you don’t have to acknowledge me
i know sometimes i get a little caught up
in the irony, the asyndeton, the metaphors and similes i wear religiously like foundation…
this self-aware narcissist knows that the
optimism in his coffers is draining faster than can be replenished by a loveless world
the law of the new world order is nihilistic globalization, yet he is
nothing without his -isms and his -izations
and his holier-than-thou judgement

is it not a sin to bring a child into a world that will never love them as they love it?
this heartbreak…shall not pass like the rest

i plug every crack and orifice in the façade with splendid disaster:
college apps, some new recipe, a half-finished composition that’s been on my desktop for four years, calculus and physics, oh! a new hobby, anything oh anything to keep me from feeling distrac–
