The broken Glasses and Plastic Plates
The broken mirrors that tell the tales
Of life I once spent in shadows
The lingering fears I silently swallowed

All the birthdays never celebrated
Tools and Knives contemplated
Hidden in the boxes, never to be found
Pistol in drawer with empty rounds

The music played but there's no sound
Within the walls of the haunted house
I knew that place,  I knew it well
My only home, we had to sell

Bitter memories, I try to forget
'Hide away , records and cassettes'
Take down the frames, hide the pictures
'He'll tear it all',  said my sister

The calls for help, you may not hear
Don't listen to the music, don't cover your ears
One cloudy day, I came back home
To find her face, in a bluish tone

Pretended that I never saw
Raging pain in my fainting heart
It was a brick, he intended to use
Changed his mind, just punched and bruised

I loved that record, I loved it much
He threw it away, it melted in the sun
I loved that picture in golden frame
He tore it apart, it was never the same

The life went on like this forever
Sky sees light, that our hearts could never......to be continued...

The rain whispered to the leaves, "She needs my music to silent the restless echoes, but I can't sustain".

The leaves rustled, "Farewell my friend"

And then she read in the psithurism of the trees.

If I could be him
Sana Sep 2017
If I could see the world through my brother's eyes
Perhaps,
Truths would turn to lies
And the lies, truths
If I could feel the world through his skin
Perhaps,
My wrists would burn from all the friction
Of the restrains and caused affliction
If I could hear the world through his ears
The names calling and all the smears
Would never fade, only I could hear
If I could be him for just one day,
Perhaps I drown in the gushing fears
O God! if I could see my brother through your eyes
Would I see a human or a firefly?

Lust Love Lost Light
Sana Nov 2016
What good is love that does not last
Melts your heart and then departs
Yet peels with it, the livid pieces
That enfold but lust, in filthy creases
So seek the love of One above
Whose fire is light, that lights the dust
Thus shimmering dots of dust's your whole
Traces the line that leads you Home

Do It
Sana Nov 2015
The absence of stillness is time. Time and stillness cannot coexist. Time is never your present for as you spell your very moment, it has already become your past. Make haste or sleep, but do not waste the energy of "unstill", you owe it to Nature.

Let Me;
Sana Oct 2015
Against the gentlest ashen bones n’ flesh
I brush my skin and devour this gest
Driveling to stretch these moments last
For let me relish this spell afore;
My beloved becomes my precious past

On this illusory floor of lustrous dreams
I smash the glass of self-esteem
Tapping and whirling until I’m bereaved
For let me evanesce in pulse afore;
The hour is struck of my beloved’s leave

I pluck the leaves of my insanity n’ grief
And brew it well with my rusty belief
On this unsullied tongue I taste the wine
For let me drink before they lift;
Walls around my beloved’s shrine

Over the tormented waters;
I build a wharf and cast my woes
And I lay in peace as a sleeping child
Whilst averting noises n’ my cries
For let me rest in peace afore;
Veils are laid as my beloved dies
Every weekend I just rush back home to spend whatever moments I am left with my family (God knows). There is no greater blessing than love of our parents. So in the poem I just tell myself that its ok to be carefree at times, and its ok to run after your foolish desires at times as long as you can cherish those; for once you are deprived of the greatest love (for death is inevitable), none of it would ever be the same again; what pleased you once would never please you again as much. The music I listen to with my father; the taste of food I enjoy with my mother; the same food and the same music would always be accompanied with pain.

The Best of Colors
Sana Oct 2015
The colors that best define the beauty of colors is black and white; hence the reason my memories are all grey, for they preserve the best of colors of life.
Whilst watching TV in black n white on road trip;  suddenly felt the intensity and depth in images that is generally ignored.

Immortality
Sana Oct 2015
O’ bewailed seeker of the seeker
Wandering in the corridor of tenet
Yet opening doors as a blind valet
To the master of secular need
That materialistic greed
On your slumping soul it feeds
Won’t you lift the veil from your heart?
For the doors are new yet all the same
To the rooms of silken gold of shame

O’ lamented!
To annihilate this lust and moist your lips
Don’t cup your hand, nor take the sip
“To quench this thirst, be the sea”
Your heart is vessel so sail THIS ship
Cruise the waters; sail wide and strive
Dig the hole deep, drown and rise

O’ grieving self
Now you conserve the flame of “fikr”
You are the sea yet how good is
When contained in self, veiling the bliss?

“To quench your thirst, be the rain”

Sprinkle the leaves and be that trail
Of lush green ivy once livid and pale
Undone the knots and unlock the chains,
For the dust, for the smoke and the fading lights
Aren’t those ones who have most right?

“But to be the rain, must be that vapor”
That gazes at “shams” and let it burn
The glistening surface of its being
Surrenders its berth of cradling sea
And submits its sole to the Highest being

A sage once said Fire and Rain
Are in unison;  are one name
Immortality!
"Shams" is the Arabic word for sun
"Fikr" is Arabic word, the literal translation is to think, to ponder over, however it has a deeper meaning in Arabic that also combines concern with deep thinking and reflecting on a subject.

Rivers of information run through you as your being flows through time, places and people. When you ponder over, connect the particles and let these gushing streams diffuse into your soul is when the rivers become the exalted sea of knowledge, and yet what good is this mighty sea if it’s merely contained in your sole self. Is not existence due to nonexistence? Is not nonexistence immortal existence? How good is your mighty settled sea if it doesn’t propel you to the shore of immortality? Where your oneness ends and the only remnant is oneness of the One. However vain the knowledge if not practiced, but it is in that containment of knowledge the flame of “fikr” can survive, it’s the womb of knowledge that can conserve the flame of “fikr”.
The application of knowledge is submission. It is when the flame of fikr ignites and becomes the celestial sun that consumes your worldly self. It is when you start sacrificing your fortune, your desires, your relations. It is when you start spending your wealth in the way of God, It is when you start spreading and sharing your knowledge for God, It is when you start living in the way of God, it is then that you turn yourself in the blissful rain of love for humanity, it is then that the endless shower of God’s blessings commences on you.

Rebirth
Sana Aug 2015
As I lay here
Encapsulated in softness
I close my eyes tenderly
For my dreams are placid
Gossamer, floating wild yet gently
My dreams are the sparkles
My dreams are the ambers
But my dreams are not dreams
My dreams are honeyed streams
Manifestation
Of bliss, of love so pure

I am witness of a miracle
I was born once as mortal clay
Buried deep within, seeds of my dark fate
They said,
“You can change not,
Your fate is forged,
On iron pages it is wrought”
Exclaimed I;
“Does not moisture crack the seeds?
Does not I carry that grows to reed?”

So I marched on barren lands
Wildly searching that could damp
Scared,  a step with each heartbeat
Thorns piercing and bleeding my feet
To heavens I prayed in desperate I cried,
Tears of agony in my eyes
That moment bestowed upon me
Our blood is the water that damps the seeds
The more we bleed, the more we reap

Hence I was reborn amongst sunniest rays
To taste the sweetness in bitterness
To experience the noise in silence
To listen the music in smiles
To see the laughter in eyes

As I drift to sleep now
I will not dream, I can never dream
My reality is too beautiful,
My reality is all I dream

Until that day when,
My reality becomes only a dream,
When my lids would turn stones
And the blood in me runs dry
Till that last day,
I will use my blood
To moist my seeds of fate
Dedicated to each one of us who struggled through their dark fate, who rebelled against failure

When your soul questions
Sana Jul 2015
Sacrifice of desires, sacrifice of wealth, sacrifice of social status, sacrifice of relations, sacrifice of inanimate belongings, Would the sacrifice be sacrifice to become of God?
And your mind wanders and fetches bits of pain you felt when you made that one small sacrifice and answers "Yes" if sacrifice is pain, there would be pain to become of God.
Your soul replies, "To bear that pain you need to experience pain, to experience pain, you need to sacrifice. Pain births the strongest. Be of pain, be of God"
Choose the road of cobble stones, and you would walk alone.
Choose the road of thorns to reach God,
You would walk with God.
Sana Jul 2015
Some people are of God,
The thinning of their sole, torn shoes and worn clothes tell the tale only hearts of God hear. How blessed, for their treasure lies within, no fear of loss, no fear of pain because the glacier of faith they carry within is too magnificent to be beautified, yet too fearsome to let any fear linger around the edges.
Everyone of us is a keeper of that glacier. It's only, that the burns sometimes melt the forted edges of  iceberg of faith. But the keeper knows exactly when it happens, and when it can happen. And do we not sometimes melt and do we not always gather our blistering crystals, do we not bear the burns on our palms and yet we stand strongest after the burning waves of fate pass on? It melts, it smoothes, it shapes and after all the carvings in the keeper's castle, makes him even more majestic.

Tis not my mind
Nor my heart
Tis not my word
Nor my speech
These rhythmic impulses
Striking gently against my nerves
And dripping...
These droplets of harmony
Absorbed; on the pages of time
This verse or perhaps a tune
This theme or perhaps a symphony
To be sung or perhaps unsung
To be heard or perhaps unheard
Yet splashed and imprinted
On the score of a lovers heart
I be the lover; Him be my beloved
As I looked up to the heavens
And drank the pouring rain
Cascaded down from my beloved's abode
To soak and fill the cracks of my imagination

And you my friend!
A passersby;
In quest of your beloved's song
But when your beloved sings not,
Return..
Within,
To hear your silver chimes
Hear once and hear again
How the tumult ends
Rewarded or unrewarded
Never you are empty handed
Hence leave your instrument of doubt hither
On your stage of tenet
But seek and return; again
And see with each return
How your orchestra rises, how it plays
How you hear and how you sway
For then, you'll be the lover
But only He will be your beloved

Sana Mar 2015
My strength trickles in drops from forted edges of my majestic iceberg
So I shrug off and veil my soul with cloak of coldness till coldness pervades and freezes my shattered crystal drops till each one of it becomes part of my whole again.
When you stand up to new quests, there are moments when you doubt your judgment of choice between alleys leading to different uncertain ends, in that instant of a moments you pull yourself out, you trust your judgement and persistently you carry on towards the unknown destination.

Blazing Star
Sana Feb 2015
Won't you dare
Step in the storm?
Won't you dare
Cup the hand of fate in yours?

Lead on the way
Amidst corridors of blazing sands
Won't you let the friction carve?
Your hands, your sight and heart?

Brushing against your face,
Peeling off your gentle fate
My friend; won't you dare?
And step in the roaring lair?

For ashes and dust
Is this greyish world
So burn the flame
And light in fumes

Hear the tapping of your feet
And feel your sole melt away
On strange wooden lands
Sprinkled with blazing sand

Catch the pebbles
Struck at you
Let it burden till you grieve,
Or build the castle of your dream

Set ablaze, set ablaze
Set yourself ablaze;
Let yourself combust and scarred
And become the blazing star

Darkness wombs the light
Sana Jan 2015
My heart I bequeath you
O’ stillness of my universe
I bequeath you my sanity
Spreading this cloak of being in your dust
I bow to your twinkling stars
To the waxing sun and scented grass
I bow to your springing rivers
To the parched grain and blossoming flowers
I bow to the warmth of my lover
And want of my beloved
I bow to your saccharine figs
And honeyed nectar in chalice filled
I bequeath my mortality to your transiency
Blinded by this light in game of ruse
Into your cohesiveness, I fuse
In blinkers to win the race
Espying a king in glass
Presage of being a slave

Yet when darkness falls
I furl my cloak and solemnly rise
For I bow not then
To your barren fields and waning suns
I bow not to your garish colors,
To the cloying drupe and wilted blossoms
Bracing my feeble transience
With my tenet and trail of faith
I bow to the King of kings;
Whilst I beseech for emanating hope,
In my tigers clasp, my God’s rope
I beseech,
Till the noise becomes music again
And as I gaze in the glass now,
All I espy is a beseeching slave
True, the brightest light casts the darkest shadow but it is in darkest that brightest embers can be found.
"Inside the womb, silence whispers;
Darkness wombs the light
Raging storms give birth to light"

Our fate is storm,
We are the light
We are the raging storm

Color of Mercilessness
Sana Dec 2014
I let myself drown asunder
Ignorance is bliss?
Or is it hum durgeon?
Do not utter the sage in you
Nor shun;
Let me lull
For today I unfurl my placid eyes
And let my drowsiness drift
Away from these snollygosters

Let these destined tides sweep through me
Whilst I gently rise,
From the ocean of rage, I rise
Drifting through notes of gentle souls
Amid these crimson glistening waves,
I bleed among roars
Whilst shores sway with sounds of tabret,
And skies dance in nacarat,
For never it welcomed; Redness,
Such unsullied, such stainless

Time hath gone, of Abel and Aron
Yet altercation wanders amongst age’s heron
Time hath gone, of forgiveness and mercy
For today, lines are re-drawn
The goodness is not your goodness
Nor dare ascertain, the mischief and nuisance
Tis but what divinely revealed
Is benevolence..
Today I unsheathed Tutankhamun’s dagger,
Today I stand against savageness
Today I paint my hands in color of mercilessness
The brutality of militant terrorist group galvanised me into writing this piece after Peshawar massacre.
This is my candle light vigil.

Your Highness
Sana Nov 2014
Your gaze, as brightest stars in Milky Way
Your touch, warmest than sun rays
Your Voice, conch shell rhythm
Afar, yet nearest than ones heart

Your Being, ones shelter in stumble and fall
Cuddled asleep in your womb from worldly bawls

Your helpful hands stretched miles to foes or friends
Subsiding desires, what say of your kindness lent

O' son of Adam! worthy of such swaggering pride in this mud vessel
For as warm as fire for cold friends
Pure as water for their thirst to quench

But then, arrogate; how they call you, agreeing
None but the One revealed this highest being

O' naif son of Adam!
Rewarding oneself with noble note?
As a pharaoh who bestows
Remember the pledge and know the burden bore upon

Think you can repay with what makes you whole?
With all owned fortune, spirit or perhaps your very soul

Behold;
For what you claim yours, is not even owned
To Him it belongs,
To Him it returns

Pearls are precious, save for crescent

Breathe not in scented air
Scent is delusion widely sprayed
Adorn not in ornaments
Life is a play, set and staged

Hear not music nor whispers within
Dust is everything and dust within

Colourful Immortality
Sana Oct 2014
I drink aurora till my thirst satiates.
Eyes shut, I drink till the gulf widens whilst every spark in me is painted dull
Till no eye sees vividness in the flittering of butterflies,
Till throbbing fades and rumbling becomes melodic,
I drink till  my covertness is colourful,
Till my eyes redness is painted
For bereft I am but I'm a fighter, a believer
I drink aurora till my soul is filled
Till transcendency becomes my fortune
And then I'll dance not in colours, but colourful my immortality would be.

Prisoner of Nothingness

I've seen the days of thunder
I've seen the eves of rain
I've rejoiced the sunshines
I've crawled in the frozen dusk
In thy naivety...
Thought the thunder was better
than the rain?
Or the sun was better than the haze?
What caused thy thunder, sunshine,  rain and the mist
Doth not even exist?
Veiled in the cloak of ignorance
Believed thou prisoned a free soul
Truth be uttered ,  none but thee became the prisoner of nothingness

Fable
Sana Sep 2014
Won't you tell me more
Of  your endless flaunt
With your wings in the gale,
Trapped  in love maze

Won't you tell me next,
Of warmth of your nest
And the shelter you made,
In days when it rained

Did not ye believe then heaven was,
Not in skies but in nest of straws
Did not ye dance in dignity,
To the sound of bitter sweet symphony

And how in your grace you fluttered,
Up to the peaks where winds muttered;
"Seen not such beauty in heaven nor earth
What gave his wings such graceful birth"

In all its pride his wings uttered
Love gave us birth so we could flutter,
Through the days,  storms and gloomy nights
Conquering the unconquerable heights

Tell me now, what befell your wings that grew
And the gentle breath that blew,
Carried ye high, floating in silver skies
Made believe, ye rejoiced a million lives

But a billion lives ye bear
Seconds stretched as light years
Enfolded, grieving, drowning in golden memories
So pretend not deaf to my utterances

One last time
Sana Sep 2014
Go, cry one last time
Feeble and withered  in the storms
Your soul had its darkest night

Ye think its the wrath of God?
This endless menace
Or the creation of your soul?

However ye may deem my friend,
How good wings are without wind?
And the blossoms without scent?

Ye spread the wings to glow
Mistaken; to reach heaven?
But the gentle breath withheld its blow

Bow not to the pity of your heart
Nor the squashing unuttered pain
For glad tidings will be heard

Cherish, for what ye have in soul
Rare bear in such might
So go cry one last time

— The End —
