I see bright colors today,
Is it just me,What do you say?
I feel the sun rays touching my soul,
While the sun smiles so bright like gold.
It has been ages since I had a morning like this,
I have always wished for something just like this.

Mum led me to sleep
reading my favourite story
now at bedtime I lull myself
reading poetry---

mum is long gone
still remains my tearful memory
her tender voice I hear
as though she's still beside me.
* after Robert Louis Stevenson's A CHILD'S GARDEN OF VERSE which I read as a child  and still reading sometimes

A woman is a graceful thing
She is a bird with golden wings.
She is a kite with rainbow tail
She's a tall ship in fullest sail.
She's like clouds of nebulae
She's a moon in Martian skies
She's a kittens purring sigh
She's the Black Swan as it dies.

[chorus]
If a lass you wish to woo
A lithesome lady, eyes of dew
Stroke her when the day is new
Let your promises be few
Action! It is what you DO.

If she's a lady you should win
She wants an engagement ring!
What she craves is simply this
'Tis NOT just how you spoon & kiss
After love's beatific bliss
'Tis holding hands when you grow old
She's looking to your very SOUL.

[chorus]

.BRIDGE:
PUT YOUR PRIDE UPON THE SHELF
DON'T IMPRESS HER
WITH YOUR WEALTH
IT MAY GO... AS MAY YOUR HEALTH!
DON'T USE CUNNING
DON'T USE STEALTH...

LOVE HER AS YOU WOULD YOURSELF.

Still without sleep this early hour,
watching waves of scenes,
almost there, atop a soundless calm,
lines, within my grasp....when
suddenly.......and loudly,
flapping wings and proud crowing
shatter dawn's placid moments...

those waves of scenes just froze
my climb....is now broken

the slumbering world has stirred
eyes open, and follow the rules of the sun
coffee-woken senses obey...

morning's peaceful hums give way to
morning's rush, and morning offerings:
sunny-side-ups, pancakes, frizzled bacon,
there's  clinking of spoons with  plates and cups
shortly, cars start revving...honking school
buses eventually fade in the moment's
busy-ness......heavy footsteps and loud
voices yelling orders take place...very soon,
dust and debris will float in the atmosphere,
grounds, buildings and bodies will quiver...

it would be difficult to defy,
huge sacrifices, progress requires,
for the good of all, we patiently succumb
.................to life's changing hums...
::::::::::
i await sunset...for much-needed aplomb,
to welcome...new waves of poetic hums...
