Creep
Some people do things to fit in,
I do things so I don't fit in
idk

first the crow came often
with a clump of hair in its beak
its glassy eyes would soften
as its wings weakened and waned
now the crow doesn't come
to my tree anymore
but i still hear wings hum
past the crack of the door

A dance in a black and white dream.
I am lost in your eye's bright gleam.
Time seems to be going in slow motion,
a show of your endless devotion.

A boy in a black and white suit
makes me wish the world were on mute.
You hold me near you in your arms,
and in that moment I am safe from harm.

A lock on my black and white heart,
but somehow you've broken the lock apart.
You have must have stolen the key,
because you have my heart completely.
Thoughts? This could use another stanza or two maybe

If life is an experiment,
where are the variables?
Are they evident?

People come and people go,
places change, people age,
And you adapt as you grow.

Feelings vary through the years,
there’s love, there’s loss,
there’s joy, and tears.

The conditions change, from time to time,
Different settings, journeys new,
no set paradigm.

And the subjects shift,
in the focus of life,
some a curse, some a gift.

Some say happiness comes from within,
but I name it the dependent variable,
changing to reflect life’s every whim.

But there’s one thing I seem to miss:
If life’s an experiment,
where’s the constant in all of this?

Is the constant life, breathing, living?

Is the constant you, existing, here?
Is the constant love, growing, giving?

Is the constant intangible?
Is it time, or place?
What is the unchanging variable?

What does humanity all somehow share?
What connects us to each other,
and throughout our lives is always there?

Will time ever find the
the time to:

Bless all of the times we needed to say sorry?
Stretch the seconds into minutes
allow us to write that epic novel?
Pause long enough to regain my sleep
I lost on all the Red Carpets?
Bring back the days
of Audrey Hepburn?

Grace Ms. Kelley or achieve
the illusive dreams we seek.

Or give me the time
to watch the eleven ******
I downloaded,
last night.

That incredible bond we shared fell through
But here I am, still in love with you

My mother once told me
To watch my weight.

Now, all I do is watch my weight.
Eat too little, work out too much.

All because of three little words,
*watch your weight
