I wonder if                  she'll notice
I wonder
if she'll notice the many bitter black roses
that I painted gold with composure
when I noticed her little fractured
world was soaking,
Imploding

I wonder
I wonder if she noticed
The earth's rotation nine degrees to the right when I asked her, "How you doing?"
and she replied, "Just fine."
then smiled me a goodnight

Probably not
Coincidental

Gravity falls
sweep me up

Where's the mop?
~~<♢>~~

i wrote a poem
in a book
and left it in the rain
a masterpiece
to say the least
now nothing but a stain

i crossed the
Himalayas
went to the farthest shore
wrote by hand
upon the sand
it's not there anymore

i found a piece of granite
of Mt Rushmore size
broke 2 hammers
and a chisel
carving only lies
o'r the years i prized it
thought it was just grand
but with the wind
erosion
will turn it into sand

but there is a tablet
that's been there from the start
don't find it odd
i write of God

He's written on my

HEART!

When you write of God you write with indelible ink!

Thanks to Bill Hughes

The feeling of swimming underwater,

missing someone,

standing on top of a mountain.

The feeling of shedding tears over a movie,

excitment over a kiss,

running for no reason.

The feeling of jumping up and down over a song,

smiling to birds,

being lost after a drunken night out,

is what we should live for.

Maybe it's true
That someone won't cross the sea for me
Walk through fire for me
Or fight for me...

But that's okay, cause I have myself
And I'm the only person that I ever really need

I wish I could write
a poem so perfect
It would be the last one
that I’d need to write

One that would tell you
exactly my feelings
Filling your heart on
this warm summer night

Words so amazing
your eyes would not falter
Gazing the verses
with me as your view

Every breath that you
find you are breathing
Comes with a song
of a love ever true

Phrases that touch where
no other has touched you
Caressing your dreams
with a feeling so pure

If only I could I would
write you that poem
So there’d be no doubt
you’re the one I adore

They say the sound
of bird song
calms the
body,
rests the
  pulse.

So fly into my
canopy
beneath
a thousand
trees,
darling,
you're like a birdsong
        to me.

Take the words
out from my mouth
please chew them well,
don't spit them out
Swallow them
deep into your throat
let them circulate,
let them float
into your mind,
into your heart
with my words
         inside you,
we'll never part
        and if
the time comes
that you should speak
in sharp punctuation
across my cheek
know that I might,
for a second,
hold my tongue
before it unfurls
   and becomes undone
it might lash out
in a burning sting
from the shock of
             the lexicon
that fervor brings
but then rage will
melt upon our lips
in satin threads
                 of fire
that burn their tips
and no temporary storm
will declare our pain
in language sacred,
and then
               profane
I'd rather bind
my lips to yours
let the waves rise up
           on speech's shores
let the tides of
forgiveness
spill out in phrases
as the moon whispers
bliss in hidden phases
and we'll forget our
periods and commas
and grammatical structures
as polished vernacular
      turns to animal lustre
as we slide to the floor
verbal cannons unfired,
                             unheard
finally at
     a loss for
             words

One thing that poetry

Has taught me outright

Is you can't beat the word

When it's put into rhyme

Where things may start out dull

Changing with time

Before you know

They sparkle and shine

As they weave in and out

Of poetic word play

Silver in tongue

With the gold they create

Nothing astounds

Or even comes close

As poetry sounds

In the rhyming word
