We're not living.
We're all just dying a minute a time.

With every lavish dinner that we buy,
We're not trying to savour it.
Instead we build our Instagram profiles
one post at a time.

If I asked you right now,
What would you do if you were the last person alive on Earth?
You'd have no concrete answer to that.

Because once you'd get past that string of thoughts
where you want to ride the coolest cars,
or live in the craziest places
or try some deadly yet expendable weapons by yourself,
you'll be left blank.
Because nobody would be there to watch all your triumphs anymore.

That would be the moment when you'll realize
How less you've lived and how much you missed.
This write-up comes from an era where social media dominates over society.
We all are trying to build our virtual lives with all those components which we think are missing from our real lives.
I read a very good quote on this as well - Social media has such a huge impact on our lives and because of this we try to compare our behind the scenes with someone else's stage life (social media profile).

50 years from now
50 years from now
we'll be old, weak and weathered.
Sunken into our patio chairs
we'll watch the sun go down once more, yet again.

As the shimmer of that dim bright sunset
would slowly turn dark
we'll think of all those moments
from all these years
which shaped our lives
and led us to this point.

You particularly,
would think of that day - our first date
and that rush of anxiety I had
which was so terribly embarrassingly visible through my eyes.

I on the other hand,
for one last time, would try to reflect upon
all the melancholic possibilities
of things happening differently
and the fact that fate chose worst.

I'd curse myself again
and the world as well
for making two friends bump into each other
at the wrong place and on the worst of times.

Because had you missed your bus for the date
or had I not met my friend,
maybe in a different setup
you would have fallen in love with me
and not him.
Not a personal experience since I'm still very young. But I bet its worth a read at least!
We all say that life is unfair..
But is it really true?
Does life really ruin  your plans
and run against you?

Think of the last thing that you really put your heart in..
worked for it day and night
couldn't sleep
because your dreams demanded of a glorious fight.

And even if you lost in that battle..
was life's unfairness the reason behind your defeat?
Or maybe you couldn't control the fire of struggle
and got burnt in its heat.

I believe life just runs by its rules..
It is not unfair..
It runs on Rules that contain the same amount of fire
but are different for every individual born here..

This fire, the fire of struggle...
keeps on changing its intensity ..
Don't panic if it's been burning too hot for too long
because eventually it will fade out.

So do not whine if you fail ..
because failure is not the end..
It is just a different path that life has given you
because you weren't able to contend
with the GREATEST OF ALL FIRES - STRUGGLE.
Just a very old piece that I wrote to figure out if I can write or not. Didn't receive any positive feedback from my peeps on this! Starting with this one since I want to build my profile from where I actually started in real life.
