You had the perfect shield
I never stood a chance
Your sunglass protection
From my halfhearted glance
I wanted to say something
But I couldn't see your face
Instead I wrung my hands
And quickly walked away
She was outside waiting for a ride, I walked past and our silence was our goodbye
