you sparked a golden fire in my veins I meant to extinguish

but before I knew it you had built a home in my heart and my shaking hands and my lungs and brain

and I couldn't breathe

I was suffocating under your flame without even understanding the warmth

but today I took my first deep breath in a while

it felt nice

and I soon realized

who needs oxygen when your love is enough?
