You rest your head on my shoulder
As I hold you tightly in my arms
Shielding you away from trouble
And all of this world's harm
You stare back at me
With those innocent emerald eyes
There is such a beauty in living
You make me realize

You are soft and fragile
Your breathing is steady
You've grown so much
Has it been two years already?
Two years since the first time I heard you cry
A cry out to the world letting people know "Here am I"

There you were;
Twenty-one inches, Eight pounds
My heart aches a million melodies
You are a piece of me I've finally found
I am in tune with your heartbeat
In your love I have drowned

I gave you life, you put worth into mine
Together we are bound...
"One of life's most beautiful treasures is the unconditional love a mother has for her child."
