As HL Mencken put it,
“The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”

You can drop that History course now
We talk about the
past like it's a
movie we
watched together.
You liked the
cinematography.
I didn't care for the
cruelty of the
protagonist.

We disagree on the
theme, and every
scene holds different
aspects of
symbolism for us.
I'm not sure I want
there to be a sequel,
despite the good
acting.

Here is a link to my YouTube channel, where I read poetry from my latest book, Sleep Always Calls.  It's available on Amazon.  My two other books are also available.  Seedy Town Blues and It's Just a Hop, Skip, and a Jump to the Madhouse.
what's the most important thing you've learned In life
use this as a place to gain and share wisdom knowledge works best communally
I lost myself while loving you,
Forgot the things I used to do.
Now in the dark, I softly see—
I don’t miss you,
I just miss me.
The first time I felt betrayed by creation
Was when I first was able
To get it straight in my head
That I will not be at my funeral.
I love you
I said but received no reply
you're angry at me I can tell
it breaks me inside
but I pretend all is well
you promised
I plead
but that just makes it worse
I shrink down in myself
it seems like a curse
I cant stand my ground
or fight for respect
so I'll beg for you love
give you my body to connect
I look in the mirror
and hate myself more than before
because the parts you called pretty
lie broken on your bedroom floor
you don't seem to realize
you don't seem to see
so ill shut my mouth
cause the problem must be me
its not about the one mistake its when you make it a habit
yes.
