One smile it takes to cloak it all
One smile for all to reveal
But, it all depends on
"What's the Deal?"

Bharti
Last night.
I can't begin to talk about.
My smile says it all.

Workers ask me, what I'm smiling about?
Can't admit the truth.
So I say nothing.

Last night.
Whew!-oh what a night?

Memories are made of this.
Now truthfully some people honestly do guess.
That last night reminded them of something they did.

How?
Can you tell?
Because they are smiling.
And it's about last night.
I rode all day,
I cried all night.
The moon didn't glow,
The stars didn't rise.
A comet blazed
Between my eyes.
West and south,
Wind and rain.
Every way is
Just the same.
Pray give me a box
To hide inside
Pray give me a *****
To dig my grave.*

~GC Levine, from *Fairest
A face spoke exposing
curled roads rising, rolling
Sweeping in all directions
Gentle shapes misleading
Echoing possible folly
questioning every turn,
disbelief bridging the errors
Yesterday's unremarkables
Left till now neglected, distorted
caustic and uninspired
victimized and untrusting
recognizing silouetted wrongs
made promises and failed at it
this road of folly, rewards, all contrary
to the words that face whispered
to lead one astray, to decieve
to make one face the unwanted.
Release clouds my judgement
Or perhaps clears it
For I've lived under your hold for so long
That everything feels different
Hazily familiar
Eerily distant
Laureates argue
amid gross indifference

Inflamed emotions
spur debate

What is rare
above all important

Called forth
on special occasions

Words, phrases, lines
stanza, tone, meter

Art in form
passion spilled in rhyme

Alive in valleys
under the radar
