Late nights; the hidden frights
Blinks up with the bathroom lights
2am, the promises have faded,
And the soul is again jaded

Spit and tears smears the broken smile,
Guilty, but only for a while.

Sometimes, I forget about the other you.
He slips through the gaps between your teeth,
and his voice creaks from your throat,
the same way my feet creak down
the wooden stairs
in the early
cracks of dawn.

His fingerprints become yours,
and it doesn't hurt anymore.

Mom and dad used to tell,"Don't be self conscious, go out and mingle"
Even  profit minded corporates, yell out,"Be socially conscious, conserve"
let soul be a myth or not, one feels kinship with all life, at least once in awhile,
cosmos is you and me, starlight whispers; what more is needed to have cosmic consciousness?

My white brain
white bones
nibbled in the break of dawn
While i see laughter drops
falling from the curves of her lips

The frozen river
turns to spring

And the fumes of my coffee
wraps me to warmth

Singing on the summer beaches
with her red hair sinking in my bones
