success
isn't a days job
or something to wake up
in hurry to say it is done
patience
to succeed in life requires hard work of persistency which takes patience
You were my perfect poem
Brief but of many lessons
Our life was the perfect paradox
For love I thought we could rhyme

You hated all I ever loved,I loved all you hated
You said dirt was clean and the sun was cold
You desired tears for years
And resisted all advances of happiness

All you hated I had to forsake
For our love was at stake
But like a toddler you had fun with my feelings
Leaving our blindest love in darkness reeling

Yet my greatest victory was losing you
My severest pain was my sweetest gain
You schooled me through experience
My all-time worst teacher

You were my perfect poem
Eternity would be short to describe the undescribable
For when my hand is strong to hold the pen
Then my heart is weak to pen the words

writing poetry, for me, has become like a eating disorder.
although instead of consuming,
i'm the one producing.

each day i strive for this unattainable image,
this glorified idea of what i might become,
and the parasite in my brain grows.

i force my finger down my throat,
causing words to come bubbling up.
and each time they are more vile than the last,
a sour odor wafting from them.

my mouth burns from the acid but it tastes like victory.
because at least i created something.
and i leave my poetry there to rot,
refusing to admit i have a problem.

too blind to understand that each time i do this i'm slowly killing myself.
i'm hungry for something that can sustain me,
but i reject every antidote.
hopefully this isn't a trigger warning,  sorry. ironic enough that this isn't even the one i struggle with.

Stretched figure strains
working hard to get by,
while staying sore and tired
most of his life.

Lonely man in a home,
family forgotten.
Siblings lost to time.
Skin wrinkled, mostly deaf
eye sight almost gone.
No one knowing
what is going
on inside his mind.

Abused wife
desperately trying to get along
stressed and angry all the time,
always running away.

Housing brat
walks the block.
Neighbors
hear his mother scream,
know that something isn’t right
but they don’t do a ****** thing.

Abandoned brother,
abandoned son,
lonely druggee
judged by everyone
steals this and some of that
just to get something
to distract him from the fact
that his immediate family
doesn’t want him to come back.

I’ll be the keeper of their stories.
Though you might never know their names,
might never know their shame,
I will not let you forget their pain.
some people have given up,they see Nigeria as hopeless,They feel it can not get better.they come with history records, recent happenings and even present situations.People are frustrated and tired  so out of the frustration comes so much cursing and bitter words.
Believe me when I say I know the feeling of disappointment, the hurt that one feels when hopes are raised only to be dashed. But when I withdraw from the so much noise and look a little deeper.I see good...so much good in  Nigeria.I am being really honest now.I know someone can see this good but if you can not, I wish I could borrow you my eyes, just so you see what I see and of course return my precious eyes back.
Right from the time of Adam and to this very day,We humans tend to feel comfortable pushing blames. We refuse owning up to our wrongs or inefficiency.
While complaining of a cut in your leg there is someone with no legs,he would gladly take your legs with the cut , Be thankful and treat the cut. When the complain is not healing the cut,why don't you use the time to find some first aid.

Why curse when you can bless
why speak death when you Can speak Life
why worry when you can pray
  We can change our thinking
We can look inwards at what we can do
We can individually make a positive   difference

I'm not saying become voiceless,I'm saying  let your voice carry positive    value and be backed up with positive actions.
Can anything good come from Nigeria?
Yes!I'm a good example
Happy Independence Beautiful people of Nigeria
