My heart beats to the rhythm of yours
And I lose myself in the light of your eyes
The pull between us acts as a magnet
No matter what is in our path, the pull never ends
And just like the moon pulls each wave to shore
Our hearts pull us close, in shine or in storm

My everlasting love for you is expressed in many forms
I can write you this poem, or sing you my song
But most of all, I want to be near you and feel you
Close to my heart is where you reside
I can hear your voice without telephone lines
Take my love and you’ll see the world with new eyes

My mind is controlled by the thought of you
I’m lost to the world but found by your love
Forgetting the problems brought on by the past
You are my present, my future, at last
This love has grasped me; I’m falling too fast

love is not perfect—
love is bending down and retying your shoe laces
over and over and over again

love is not peace—
love is the way screams and broken plates litter the floor
while heated lips crash in a passionate embrace

love is not forever—
love is the infinitesimal space between clasped wrinkled hands
of old lovers who have already seen everything beautiful in the world

love is not pretty—
love is rough
and violent,
testing,
maddening,
but undeniably
beautiful.
at least, that's what i want love to be.

I miss you
But someday soon
My aim will improve

I've come to the decision
that the problem with everything
is other people.

Our internal struggles are mountains we’re used to climbing,
you kind of know the best way to the top.
It’s when you’re confronted with other people’s mountains;
they’re already half way there
and you’re at the bottom looking up.

And there have been people
who have already climbed that mountain before you,
and they've influenced where
that other person has placed their feet.

It’s all an awfully tiring adventure
up other people’s perilous mountains
and you could be swept up in it
and lose yourself entirely
before you've even conquered your own.
Your mountain is a terrifying thing indeed.

Stand up for what?
To collapse back down
my ankles turn to water
whenever you're around
I can't stand up
when i don't know what i stand for
like my brain is in the clouds
but my heart is on the **** floor
or a platform
my face is in a sandstorm
and i can't form words
with my lips between your teeth
our bodies now declare war
and my throat begets a siren
that your backbones can't ignore
your shoulders hold me down
while i beg for
just
a
little
bit
more
