when you crush a blackberry
violet juice becomes your DNA
gritty underneath fingernails and
ingrained into the grooves of flesh
tiny records spinning over vinyl seeds
a bitter atomic explosion
for one millisecond you are in complete control
the captain of the motherboard
playing god

to you she's like
a coral reef of vibrant and neon glow

you toured her heart,
took your favorite parts
and made them into bits of jewelry
to wear her as your possession

and now you've found someone better
someone shinier and vibrant
and her membranes fall apart

left her as a greying skeleton
hands outward, reaching
for the lost love
from you.

cut flesh like a wedding cake
heavy porcelain fondant
each rib a slice topped with cherry filling
a body that is no longer mine

open to a glossy woman pg. 6
9 moves your guy will love
tear her in two, each ligament snapped
a body that is no longer hers

the body is a temple and ours
have been decimated, deconstructed
made for human consumption and
delivered to our loyal subscribers

I heard I could tie all my veins and arteries together and they would circle the earth so I thought if we laced ours together we could reach the moon
and watch stars blaze like one hundred billion cigarettes in the dark
skinny dip through purple orange green supernova explosions
curl up in a crater and watch the world spin like a cumbersome ballerina then we’d dive back down from the moon to the mothership
and unbraid our veins, separating mine from yours.
But without those vascular knots we’d start drifting apart just like Pangaea.
We’d both begin forgetting how we ballroom danced through constellations together how our fingertips wrinkled like walnuts outside the atmosphere
how we sunbathed under the incandescence of blue supergiants

Look upon notch between yonder mountains
As sun slips inside its’ gap
Aura of evolution in it contained
Our star cuts through dimensional map

Gadding about the sky, sun frolics freely
Only you see from east to west
When put in perspective of Milky Way
Our sun but spec immense integral test

Colliding, conjoining, refracting, recoiling
Worlds spin on axis and orbit
When a mind can infinitely expand
Idea abroad, which becomes forbid

Digestion into universe be our destiny
Finite earth but skipping stone
You and I an atom on it propelled
Posterity invention shall we be blown

Her crinkled eyes show lines of feigned contentment,
Veiling the gritted resignation within.

Every proverbial step taken was always slightly off
So little that it wasn't noticeable at the time,
Though it took her to an unintended destination.
Never understanding why she would exude so much of herself
And never obtain what she wanted.
Going over past steps ad nauseam, wondering where she faltered.
At which point did she start in the wrong direction
How can she get back
Should she even try
When it's unknown if anything will be left
Aside from an abandoned piece of herself
If she were to return.

You can't go backwards in life
But who says you can't circle back?
