You burned down my villages
You pillaged my temple
Only to conquer the land you desired
Until you heard of the nearby Empire
The one with towering walls
Where they say gold is abundant
A new conquest awaits you
While I'm left to rebuild

He used to strut with a heart full of pride

These days see him stumbling every so often
These days see his eyes vacant and sullen

So I asked if there was anything bothering him
So I asked what is it that made his light so dim

He tarried, then answered with conviction true
He tarried before he finally answered, *"You..."
A dusty museum with broken windows
Cobwebs hang from open doorways , unread
books lie shadowed , wood floors echo timid
footsteps down musty hallways

Structures audibly strain and wince
Period light fixtures swing in defiance

Scattered thoughts
Escape the pen
Of reason.

All along a
Sinuous trail
Is laid,
Snail slimed,

Easily followed
Yet utterly devoid
Of meaning.

One day
Focus
Shall gimlet point

To the core
Of snail shell,
Fractal,

Shall return
Wildcats to the
Source-

To the reason
For thinking-

Nary a rime
On the grass-

Barely a ****
In the trees

Hotter and
Wetter
Each passing
Winter-

When will this
Be Mars?
