Rome has set on the sun,
Spreads the rays of its streets
And the warmth of its torches.
Caesar commands nightfall come,
To make florid incense and wine
And talk as one full of the moon.

Little Bear
and she placed her forehead
on the closed door
shutting her eyes
she wept
her palm flat against the wood
feeling the last place he had touched
wishing he could feel her fingers spread
through his back
into his ribs
taking her with him
and the room fell silent

in the back of her mind
she heard a dark smile
slowly opening her tired eyes
knowing now
what stood behind her

the sword he had given her
lay at her feet
too heavy to wield
weighing more
than her courage
but she very slowly
picked it up
scraping a line on the floor
and she heard him whisper
be brave little bear

turning, slowly, knowing,
with the weapon
heavy in her hands
held out before her
shaking with it's weight
her eyes traveled
from her feet
on the floor
to the 'smile'
of the grinning dragon

and right then, she knew just how very small she was

Magic words
sacred beings
nothing isn't
everything is

hidden
in the
open

fall up, fall
down, fall
all around

dull as day
alive
as night

driftwood
drifting
away, slowly
violently

we are one,
we are
apart

You can feel it in your throat.

Your Chest.

The feeling of wanting to scream,

but you can't

so you cry.

But I don't want to cry

because

I am strong.

I dream of the animal parade.

The one from the Teletubbies.

I dream of simple times.

When I would burn oil over a candle and it would smell like summer rain.

And it would smell like the first girl I loved.

A drunken god has
spoke you into existence
A stolen diary that told you,
it’s a sin to return this body
even if its weak bones
couldn’t carry the weight
of your heavy heart

I know I can speak myself out of it
With a blade in my hand
standing on the edge of the stage,
I’ll wait for the Almighty to sober up
and watch me steal his role

After twenty years of rehearsal
I’ll play god,
lights will go off,
and curtains will close

Your followers will clap in awe
at my convincing performance

As I bow before them
As I fall before you
This is merely satire.

as your grace tries to stretch it's wings
in that rusted cage he glues plastic gems on
i am besotted by the elegance of the plumage
falling to a floor i would give anything
to sweep.

the night i proclaimed my love for you
i made an attempt on my life,
the rationale was of the "if i can't have..."
kind, blended with other poisons,
and entirely half-assed.

only now, i understand that
whispering into tin cans and writing
poetry with hand-made quills is far better
than the inky black screaming oblivion
i almost slipped into.

love, is it real?
or is it just something that radiates
reflections of crystals
on romanticized chandeliers

I’m roughly drinking
keeping a mind clear
is it possible to have someone
to lock your heart within
keeping it safe, a sheer sincere

I have dreamed of million eyes
but mine only landed on one
one that my soul’s draining to collect
are you real, my dearly one?

Destruct me , so I can be reborn
chain me to your labyrinth,
tie my noose when I hang too loose,
when I am compassless,
my heart
nowhere bound
let the flames engulf my mind,
I will watch the ring of fire with ease,
I will walk the road paved with blood,
for this transient
town hasn't seen my wild eyes on the map,
and this transient heart
hasn't seen your love in my dreams,
so destruct me fully,
so I can be reborn.
