laura
got to eat them as they darken
reddened ruby to black constant opal
berries will rot quickly if you don’t
or they’ll taste real gooey and wierdy
if you let the drupelets’ colors get
unsynchronized like summer and fall

...why am i telling you this?
because i learned that the hard way
and the days go away in the gleam
heavy showers and peak-a-boo sun
the east barely bracing for the storm
and the sweetness decaying like the leaves
o this is so sad, alexa play despacito

Each day, in breath I climb a mountain of words.
Letters being like dirt spread below feet.
Pen like staff carrying me upward.

Each morning at daybreak, I climb gracefully.
Streams of word currents drift on pond like page.
Birds echo as catalyst to bond with life’s gift.

Each moment with force, I dance on word peaks.
Sun’s rays mix with endless possibilities.
Gratitude fills lungs, as balance anchors.

Until, top is reached to end poem with gratitude.
Until, voice sings and peace is mine.
Inspired by communication with
Eleanor Prince
Thank you.
i have told the story of how you destroyed me so many times
and the funny part is
that i tell it the same way every time
but this last time that i told it
it felt different
and
i have spent a long time thinking you took up more space than you actually did
because i dedicated a whole chapter of my life to you
and for a while
that was the only chapter i was reading
but
it turns out you were just another paragraph
in the story that is my life
and
my story is my favorite book to read
so i won't let you ruin my favorite book for me
you barely deserve a page
there is no way in hell i'm giving you a chapter

today is a good day
here's to hoping i don't mess it up
two years from now
this poem is really random
toaster
wow laura ur so extra
They told him he couldn't but he's been doing it
She waved and went out of her way to say hi
There was a mutual vibe between the two
He was brown and a hard worker very phyiscal to get the job done
She was blonde with blue eyes, her nuturing behavior because of her job
He no longer wanted the life he lived but wanted to move forward with him
She smiled young and innocent where he was older knew better but chose not to do right
He learned from him mistakes and didn't want to fall back into bad habits
He grew up with tough love and she was loved and had it easier
Most do the opposite of what they say, actions speak louder than words

I'm living in a broken world
A broken world
Surviving without you
A painful destiny
A destiny granted to me
To live without you
Someday it'll not be Monday
but today it happens to be.

The start of things
even a new week
begins
at the point of no return
don't let anyone tell you
that isn't so.

There is no
going back
to before.

Two hundred and fifty one seasons
several hundred thousand reasons
he
goes on in the background
rambling about how time is the enemy
when we all know that the real threat
is what you remember and cannot forget.

Getting dressed up to get messed up
is there any sense in me waking up?
I did though and if there really is no
going back
I shall go on
be it Monday or not.

In my socks and shoeless
I think of Joe Jackson,
but I'm
clueless
about the
Black Sox scandal.
