Divine Love

When I look at you,
Temple bells ring all around
You glisten like gold
With your deep deep eyes,
This heart of mine you hold.
With your sacred lips,
This soul of mine you kiss.
You are the undying God
Standing tall into the proud skies
Smiling down at this blind devotee.
I never knew the meaning of devotion
But when I lose myself in your eyes
My heart joins my hands together to pray.
You are a celestial sight
You are shining upon me so bright
My Lord, I shall be your faithful disciple
Every blessed second of my life.
If you would be still...
Close your eyes and wait for Me...
Then you would see truth.

Love, looked at itself,
Came upon nubile innocents,
Threw down with jaded sun,
Made its own bed in the open,
Earth rained for a thousand days,
Evolution birthing in the flood,
Meteors could not wait to fall,
Comets not wait to strike,
Oceans drowned in salt,
Evaporated whilst the whole wide
Swirl, turned and glazed upon
An arc of celestial remnants.

Everyone keeps telling you to 'Quiet down! Hush!'
Confusion on your little face, big questioning eyes.
You are still young enough to be wholly you,
And 'too loud' has no meaning.
Your voice is you, its timbre and pitch and volume, all your own,
They are telling you to change.
This will happen to you, again and again, my hearts own child,
I cannot prevent it.
But I will not ask you to hush,
And my heart will weep the day I hear you check before you speak,
The day that a subdued, sorry whisper emerges
From where a ***** roar once dwelled.

Pure beauty as the vision
That brings about a change
In the wandering soul of the child
The beating heart of man

Angelic voice that cries out
Like that of a meadow lark
Makes the ancient traveler take a stand
And fall down where you are

Eyes deep as any ocean
Holding back the waves
Collecting all the salty tears
Is the pillow where you lay

All you really care to be
Is loved for who you are
Not who it is they think they need
Mysterious and dark

They plucked you from out of the crowd
Set you on a pedestal
More goddess like than should be aloud
Worshiping what they see yet do not know

The beauty of the moment
The Starlet of the day
Until it is we use her up
Then send her on her way
