You are fashion
Mrs. Juniper
Some days a fitted skirt
Others, a skinny jeans ensemble
The summertime catcalls and whistles
Over the length of your legs
And a slinky polka dot bikini
You pay no mind to
If fact, you don't even blink
Even when they lick the glass
It's a job to you
Plain and simple
And no matter how stiff it becomes
You're always willing
To lend a helping hand
Inspired by, of all things, a scene from the 1970's police procedural TV series "Adam-12."

Sometimes I question my purpose in life
A constant stream of essays and equations
Judged by a letter grade and a GPA
My  knowledge determines my worth
Not my skills or life experience
Not what I put out into the world
My journey or my vision
Is my life a series of numbers
Wins, goals, accomplishments
Marriage, family, kids
Then to the finish line
An undecidedly dark quest
A journey in which you go alone
Searching for one
Only finding your reflection

Peace
Some say it is the wind brushing against soft skin
Some say it is the birds humming in the morning
Is it the people who make you laugh
The breakfast you eat in the morning
Peace

Have you ever noticed the bubbly ones
The life of the party
Is usually a tragic one
The one with the sad past
The one who has nothing to live for
But everything at once
Short poem

— The End —
