I offer this
Because theres nothing more
Just two feet a heartbeat
And a sample of my soul
I could write your name
On the receeding skyline
As dusk engulfs the sun
We could chase it forever
Fly too close and surely burn
vaporized, reduced to dust
Ashes on a pire of lost entities
forgotten as the night closes in
As if we were never here to begin with
As insignificant as faint embers
Floating into the breeze
Ascending higher
Chasing infinity
One consciousness subjectively
Reaching out to touch
Eternity.

Listen to the wind screaming
And the air howling
The thunder rolling
Lightening illuminating the black skies
You will hear the storm
And remember me;
Think
She wanted storms

You stupid little ****,
with all your lack of wit.
I was deceived.
I can't believe
I let you lick my ***.

His kiss was of gold
Staining her lips with the mark
Of innocence lost.

His fingertips left
Gilded prints, painted on her
Lovely face with care.

Polished Adonis
Though he was, the sun cannot
Shine on forever.

To everyone
He was gone and gone for good,
But he was still there

Every time she
Saw her face in the mirror
She still saw him there.

Painted on her skin
Filigree of fingerprints
And sweet lips stained gold

He left a shining mark
On her skin for no one else
But that one, sweet girl

Who learned that all
That glitters may not be gold
But gold can be found

Even if he is
Found putting his golden lips
On another girl.
breathe.
because you know what you
do when someone ***** you
over? you calmly take your
heart out of their hands
and leave. you think maybe
you'll sew it back on to
your sleeve but not now, not
today. you put their things
in a box (their cds, their
shirts, their books, their
notes, the little things you
picked up on your dates)
and you put it on the
highest shelf in your
closet, because someday
you will want to remember
them, maybe. if you don't
want to remember them, you
give them the box, you
donate the box, you throw
the box in the river. and
you breathe. because you
deserve better. you deserve
someone who doesn't consider
you a fallback, a plan b.
you will be someone's plan.
you will be the only plan.
you will be my-god-what-
was-i-doing-before-you-
walked-around-that-
corner. remember that
you are enough.

I will be okay.

I've broken my heart so many times, I've stopped keeping track.
What's the point of counting such a high number?

I've gotten so good at it, haven't I?

Thought I'd tell you how to do it.

1. Reach inside your chest.
2. Pull apart your ribcage.
3. Breathe. (It doesn't really hurt.)
4. Take hold of your beating center.

Breaking it is the final part --
Probably the easiest of all.

5. Tighten your fist.

Then watch the blood pour out...
Along with the love you've yet to give.
Along with the pain you've held onto.
Along with the hope you've forgotten.

Now put it back in.
Yes, really.
Make sure every valve is secure.
Look, I told you how.
Now I'm trying to tell you not to.

You're too young to die of heartbreak.

And love is an amazing thing that you do not
want to miss out on.
I can't write lately.
Forgive me for being distracted by life.
