you could almost see
ink flowing through her veins
and how she spread her words
across her heart
waiting for someone to
read them
and she may have been
complicated
but she had such
simple needs
but no one took her
seriously
and she let things
hurt far more than they should
because she truly cared about
people. everyone. everything
because it felt right to her
and she had no idea
how to be anything else
because sometimes she
wished she could
but if you were to pick apart
all these little pieces
and how memories always stain
then maybe you could
see something
special there

Entering survival mode.

Feed upon your remaining heart.
Attention:
use leftovers parsimoniously.

Take that one everlasting memory.

Stage a friend, a dearest one.

Plunge into poetry.

Take a deep breath.

Remember all the words
in a myriad of fairy worlds.

Acknowledge:
nothing left to say.

Acknowledge:
no one in the distance.

Exit survival mode.
(*) In extremis:  (Latin) "in the farthest reaches" or "at the point of death".
YOU HAVE A LIMITED
AMOUNT OF HEART BEATS
WHEN YOU FALL IN LOVE
YOUR HEART SKIPS A BEAT
SO, THAT MEANS
EVERY TIME I FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU
ALL OVER AGAIN , YOU ARE SAVING ME
YOU MAKE ME FALL IN LOVE
ALL THE TIME
NOT ONLY WITH YOU
BUT WITH THE SKY
THE FLOWERS
THE AIR
YOUR EYES
I FELL IN *LOVE *
WITH THE FACT
THAT YOU'RE *MINE
SO THANK YOU
*FOR SAVING ME
Blame it on
Your absent father
Your addict mother
Your unexpected children
Blame it on
Anyone, and anything
So you never have to
Take responsibility
For your own actions

It's the whiskey
That hit me
It's my own shards
That tore me apart
It's a malevolent God
That lied about love
'Cause you don't do anything

Blame it on
My fragile psyche
My insecurities
My "impossible" needs
Blame it on
Anyone, and anything
So you never have to
Take responsibility
For what you've done to me

It's the cigarettes
That stole my breath
The weight of my expectations
That broke my trust
The spinning of my own wheels
That drove me into madness
'Cause you don't do anything
Everyone has a **** like this in their life.
