Eyes

I looked into her eyes. I saw the fear, the sorrow, the guilt and the pain in her eyes. But after a while only had I realised; that what I saw in her, was the reflection of my own emotions.

ours is but a glimpse

nightly news

we forge swords  aside the dead we slay
charge the atmosphere deadly with gas of yesterday
forage on decay
We look heavenward blindly devoted to bigotry
we police with too soon deadly force
cut nature into Wall Street pavement
pay billionaires as we slap their mischeviousness
on their gold and diamond encrusted wrists,
the earth whorls madly onto the nightly news
scene.
We should strip Churches of their beloved tax-exempt status
if they should continue to fail to reach out to those in need:
the poor, those chased out of their homelands by tyranny,
or those who seek asylum from any type of oppression.

I Will

I will
                                                       separate
                                                      the truth
                                                 from your lies

                                                          I will
                                                       fantasize
                                                     that we are
                                                   friends forever

                                                          I will
                                                         devour
                                                       the night
                                                 until day breaks

                                                          I will
                                                          wake
                                                     to navigate
                                                   my life alone

                                                          I will
                                                         protect
                                                   my shrinking
                                                         dignity

                                                          I will
                                                         survive
                                                  these moments
                                                          so say ...

                                                     *good-bye
Betrayal comes. Life Remains.

Mountains..

It's like the inevitable either you can climb it, or simply take the longer route and walk around,

The mountains are yet alive so when you go there for peace they'll make the slightest sound,

They will will not crumble do to a simple step,
Neither did they judge you when all you did is wept;

Be one with nature,
because rather we like it or not that is our future;

To become back one with where it is that our bodies came,
To finally realize that no matter what we do in life we are all indeed the same;

To the grass below and to the sky's above,
we will once become those we love;

To the mountains and to the sea,
To know that no one is below or above thee;

A Smile

I shut my eyes,
Willing my thoughts away.
I take a step back,
Though I truly wish to stay.
But what will I do?
While his sight remains blocked.
Tell him I love him?
No. That must remain locked.
For though what we have is strong,
There's a crack in our base.
So I will remain silent.
With a placid smile on my face.

Now
Stolen at "hello"
Lost at "goodbye"
Do you think about me
From time to time?
