The Guest
florence clark May 2014
I felt his presence...before recognition dawned.
A slight unease spread through my body
A chill breeze blew through the room
          raising goosebumps on my skin.
                             And fear..no...
                             ....TERROR....

I knew him then, realizing that THIS night
he had not come for ME.
He had merely called to pay his respects:
To show me I need not fear him.
                   He was an honored guest.
I realized then, that the fear had no basis,
I felt his love for me.
                        When he visits us,
it is the ones who are well taught
                       who welcome him,
who greet him as each day dawns

                             Without fear

I Wish You Love...
florence clark Apr 2014
When you entered the room
Instead of your usual warmth
The fire in your heart had turned to embers
And only the cold entered with you.

With a grimace
you threw a wave in my direction;
then turned your back to me
and entered the block of ice that you brought with you.

You have withdrawn,
You are unreachable...to ME.
And I ask myself...FOREVER?

While I watch and wait
I think only good thoughts of you;
I Wish You Love.
Notes to self:  Be careful what you wish for..you may just get it.
"Be careful what you pretend to be; in the end you       become                  it" (from Mother Night, based on a story by Kurt Vonnegut)

First Musings
florence clark Apr 2014
As I lay down to sleep,
   I feel your head
as it begins settling
  against my knee.

Your body snuggles closer..
    and closer to my leg.

          As you relax,
     You become lighter
           and lighter.
.
    We begin to float
    Together...Gently
     Into our dreams

     Safe----Together
For my beloved Daisy Mae; she was as close to being human as a dog could be..and still be a dog.
