Take me apart, body boy,
Hold me, dangling, from the climb.
Your hands have cast a spell on me,
The movements hit bullseye.
I waited many summers
For my body boy to dive,
But the cord was wrapped around him-
How he had to kick to survive.
The waves below us called to me,
But my body boy decried,
‘How can I jump from where I’m from,
When I never learnt to cry?’
One day the cord turned rotten,
And I knew it was our time,
So, my body boy let go of me,
But he never jumped behind.
