Serenity in disguise .. A gaggle of geese gently slice the surface as thick fog plays into mornings hand .  Cattails , Reeds and fallen timber deflect each waves crescendo .. Childhood memories of cane poles and tin cans , river rocks skipped across mirrored waters ...

When Christ returns from the East 'twould be quite proper indeed that he call upon the mountains of North Carolina as the Holy Platform , Soco Falls most assuredly a replica of the Heavenly Gates , the surrounding colors of the Appalachian woodlands painted by the Angels themselves ..

NOW that a crimson rambler
begins to crawl over the house
    of our two lives-

Now that a red curve
    winds across the shingles-

Now that hands
    washed in early sunrises
    climb and spill scarlet
    on a white lattice weave-

Now that a loop of blood
    is written on our roof
    and reaching around a chimney-

How are the two lives of this house
to keep strong hands and strong hearts?

Saying goodbye
To someone you love
Is like reading the final page
Of an amazing book.

As the last chapter ends
You begin to notice
Just how beautiful
And perfect
The plot always was.

You appreciate the joy
And even the pain
As you read and thumb
Through every page.

Finally understanding
The moral of the story,
You realize you've reached
The end of this journey.

Although the last sentence
Is the most difficult to read
Another great book awaits
Once you turn the final page.

Eventually you may stumble
Upon yet another great find.
Or maybe you'll return
To the book you left behind.

You may just discover
Once all is said and done
That this particular book
Was your favorite story
All along.
