If I had a wish,
what would I wish for?

I would wish for you
in the next life.

But then, would you ever wish
not to be with her?

How can I unmake indignant hands,
rolled, into fists?
If I kiss the fingers, will they unfold,
like celestial doors,
and beckon me in?
If I traverse your lifeline,
with softened eyes, and lips,
will we time skip,
Into a time, and place,
that's better, than this?

Even in thunder,
you dwell
at the center, of me.

I wonder,
would you melt...
with my hand, on your cheek.
We all have it
or at least I think we do
That ache or sorrow of heart
When in moments all alone
we sit sometimes on the edge of the bed for hours
Each breath slow and easy
as that hollow ache swallows the whole heart

I wonder if it comes from God letting us know what it feels like to be rejected by the people we love

When Jesus was 12 he attended the Passover festivals in Jerusalem with his parents . After the holiday was over everyone packed up and left only concerned about their destination . About half way home his parents realized he was not there and made a hasty retreat back to Jerusalem . They found him in the Temple teaching the priest .

Sometimes we get caught up in our destination and forget what we are missing .
"Why were you searching for me ? Did you not know I must be in my father's house ?"

Maybe that hollow ache is the missing presence of our Father's house inside .

Maybe going somewhere without is going nowhere at all .

He sits on the edge of the bed;
tears rolling, no reason.
             Not sad —
                   just leaking.

Hand across his face,
sniffs, straightens his back.
         Deep breath —
                               Done!

He moves on,
like it never happened at all.

“Never mind,” he says,
                      “that’s just life.”

I was crushed to find
she had another crush.
So crushed I sat and
watched "Blue Crush"
sipping my Orange Crush
with crushed ice
from a crushable aluminum can.
All I wanted was to crush her
in a crushing hug as I sat
crushed between the cushions
on my crushed velvet couch.
Contemplating this crushing experience.
