Just as I hear the music that plays from within
As soft as a distant whisper or breath
Your touch has been memorized upon my skin
Like a kiss lost upon the wind.

A duet of our souls colliding
That forms its very own tempo
Hitting all the rhythms and beats
On the scale from adagio to allegro

Coaxing forth the sweetest of melodies
My maestro skillfully playing my every part
Drawing his bow against the tightly wound strings
To the hidden notes of his music written within my heart

Harmonizing in our own lover's chorus
Our bodies singing to a crescendo building
Moans and sighs become the music before us
Then collapse exhausted, the performance ending

A serenade to all who wish to listen to our song
Faces without names, lost among the throngs
And just like the music restored my hope
My maestro saved me when he came along

Such is the music that has cleansed my soul
Reminding me of all that I so adore
And having been once again made whole
I can only hope that he grants me an encore

Beneath murky, bloodied water, it beats.
The lonesome heart of a saint.
With every beat, the still water ripples.
Agonising.

Lips like cherry wine.
Porcelain, icy, skin.

Will you remember the taste of my lips?
Will you remember my hands when he touches you?

Will he caress you the way that I did?
Will he care for you more than I did?

I breathe beneath the ***** water.
Heartbeats slowing down, almost inaudible.
When suddenly, the beating stops.
The water stops.

My fingers prune and my chest throbs.
It's cold.

in the landscape of you
I am a wandering soul
with but my words
                for protection
as I make you my goal
in the expanse of your vista,
I wear the cloak of our depth
your heartbeats in mine
as we breathe
           the same breath
I feel your rugged peaks,
your valleys that sink
your core's wildflower essence
that stains me with ink
I bathe in its fragrance,
a tattooed poet's imprint
in the primal spheres in my being
enveloping my core
all the clearer
          for seeing

and when your rough
                 tempest storms
are afar, yet in view
I dive straight to
                  their center
into the magnet of you
for
     I will water your deserts
infuse fresh creeks
                        in your dry
I will run through your forests
as I call to your wild
as I straddle your cliffs,
festoon your tundra
             with blooms
steam will rise from
                your earthcore
and fill up my womb
Through the dew on our lashes
through my lava that flows,
the stars in your eyes
make my universe glow

these geographic measures
                                 I take
as you let me inside
our bloodstreams merging
as we get lost in the tides
electric pulsed woodlands
that spread iced wildfires
slaking the loops
  of floodgates' desire
and I will hold you together
if you fall, torn apart
bonded forever
in this map of our
                    hearts
