Rich coffee aroma consumes the room.
Coffee’s perfume and red lights relax about.

Your round face is polished exquisitely.
While your pink and turquoise dress flares and touts.

I watch you from a dank, lonely corner.
My wooden frame squeaks and moan all throughout.

Your steel basks in light making an aura.
Your beauty twinkles brilliantly and spouts.

Once I sat with you, enjoying my day.
Falling for your steel and all of your grout.

Then a rant, roar, and swish broke me in half.
After, I was discarded like a lout.

Now, I can only watch you from afar.
My love engulfs my being and shrilly shouts.

A new chair now kisses your underside.
If I am fixed one day, I’m swinging clouts.

His metal frame does shine very nicely.
But wood versus metal, would win no doubt.

I’m attractive and more comfortable.
He’s very hard and ugly in stout.

Next Thursday is trash day and I’ll be gone.
My frame will die, but not my love’s devout.
The things a chair would say if it could speak; I wonder : o

MONK ADJUSTED MY TIE - I ASKED HIM WHY
EVERYTHING HAD TO BE STRAIGHT - HE SAID,
'WAIT, I'LL TELL YOU WHY THAT THE STARS
ARE ORDERED IN THE SKY AND BIRDS
NEED TWO WINGS WHEN THEY FLY, TO
PLACES ARRANGED BY GOD BEFOREHAND,
NORTH AND SOUTH BEFORE THEY LAND,
THOSE PICTURES ON THE WALL SHOULD NOT
MOVE AT ALL AND WHEN I MAKE LOVE,
SOMEONE'S WATCHING ME FROM ABOVE,
NOTHING IS RANDOM SO COME ON AND
BE A REGULAR GUY - THE TEARS DROP
EVENLY WHEN I CRY FOR THIS IS A MUST -
NEARLY EVERYTHING OUT THERE I NEED TO ADJUST.'

perhaps it is the weather
a prolonged absence of the sun
or presence of the winter cold
or just a temporary fashion

the media as well as many webbéd sites
simply abound with dreary blather
of lovers lost and death so cold
the lonesomeness of every single soul
and how s/he suffers when s/he writes
spelled out at length with no discretion

we know that people suffer from depression
or unquenchable anger at the world
and how through proper treatments
you can considerably relieve the pain

fix them in words is one of them
    but may not be enough
sometimes a mix of pills and pen
may do the trick and help you
write yourself through your misty prison walls
discover unlocked doors hidden in plain sight
    step out into the sunshine
        from the darkest night

you are the sun
    whose radiance illuminates the world
    lends brilliance to your life
sheds light on everything you’ve done

and soon you’ll notice
even the weather is getting bether …
