Graces everyone with her presence,
lights up the world with her smile,

Where does the light come from?
Where does the darkness hide?

Look into her eyes
you'll find where the truth lies.

A shattered heart,
a numb soul.

Darkness lies within,
breaking her apart

Like a candle,
light is what the world will get

While she slowly melts
into her shadow.

They had to make it
it was about time
everyone being immortal
was getting way out of line

So they drew up plans
to make death come to man
tirelessly they worked
putting time on the blueprints

Labs were working overtime
many did feel strained whilst they refined
this was going to be the biggy
they could not wait to unleash it on cities

When all was complete
all did meet and greet
all was completed very well
now they did release on Earth hell

I ran from demons
across my life,
through the forest
of my dreams,
down a path
which had no end,
or at least it never seemed

I walked,
I ran,
I swam,
I rowed,
across a sea
I never owned.

A wall appeared,
forever each way.
No forward,
no back,
I turned to face my prey.

My hands
began to shake.
My breathing
stopped.
Eyes shut tight  
and opened once again.
To my knees,
I began to fall
only to face
a broken mirror on the wall
